Thread: why didn't gregg use his own band to record

his new album coming out? I just thought it seemed kind of strange,maybe it is the way a lot of musicians do it now.? I read where Doyle Bramhall II plays the guitar parts (which is a good choice)

I don't think Gregg has a band. He tours as Gregg Allman and Friends and the friends change quite frequently...

As I understand it, the producer, T Bone Burnett, chose the musicians, including Dr. John.

Touring bands don't always translate into the best studio performances.

Wrong Brent, the touring band would be cheaper. Ann has it right, touring and studio musicians are not the same.

T-Bone Burnett likes to use his own musicians when he produces an album. That's why they almost all seem to have the same sound.
