The hardcover arrived.

Can't put it down.

Retreating to the bat cave to finish this thing.

So far,epic.

Al,great job and thanks to you for setting my work schedule back a few days!

Like many books I keep waiting for the author to reflect his bias or editorialize...instead I'm pleasantly surprised how Alan presents a perspective that allows the story to unfold and tell itself...great historical and journalistic work...awesome read...up to the Haynes/Woody era...

I just got the kindle edition so I could read it when things slow down at work tonight. I'll pick up the hardcover eventually. I too enjoy the way it is presented and I really appreciate the hard work it took to sift through and organize the interviews into a coherent, cohesive narrative. it's not called a labor of love because it's easy. Great work Mr. Paul.

Worth it just for the pictures alone. Thankfully Mike Lawler got his
own! I've been clamoring for an Allman `oral history' for years and
now I've got one in my hands. Definitely worth the wait...
