Thread: Remastered Beatles cds cheap at Target today

Wayne - 9/8/2009 at 05:34 PM

At Target they are $11.98 and if you buy 2 cds, you get a $5 gift card.

Stopped in Walmart this morning and they have them all, packaging looks great, all paper, no plastic cases. They are $13.98 there with the white album and past masters are $19.98.

Stopping by Target tonight to get mine. Can't wait to hear them, Abbey Road and Rubber Soul first.

interesting, the Target web site says on sale 9/9/09. looks like a few places started a day early. Best Buy web site says 9/9/09 also, for $ 12.99

jersey_devil - 9/8/2009 at 05:41 PM

They don't go on sale officially till tomorrow (9/9/09). Target may have them
on the shelves, but they won't scan at the register till tomorrow.

musicmann - 9/8/2009 at 05:44 PM

Do they have the entire box set or just individual cds?

PauliG - 9/8/2009 at 05:46 PM

Actually they could get an extremely hefty fine for selling before release date if someone finds out! But very cool for you. Pick them up today...

Wayne - 9/8/2009 at 05:48 PM

Walmart is selling them here, co-worker picked up Let It Be at lunch, hopes he lets me listen to it later.

Walmart did not have the box set, or I didn't see it, just the individual releases.

jersey_devil - 9/8/2009 at 05:49 PM

You can try, but it won't work at Target until tomorrow.
Walmart on the other hand.....

heineken515 - 9/8/2009 at 05:50 PM

Did I miss some anniversary or something about the Beatles?

Have noticed on VH1 and other channels, big time overload on Beatles stuff....

jersey_devil - 9/8/2009 at 06:10 PM

Beatles Remasters, Mono and Stereo and Beatles Rock Band Game.
All out on 9/9/09.

Eileen1 - 9/8/2009 at 06:15 PM

Please tell me if Im understanding this correctly, the mono cds are being released individually as well as the box set?

Lammie - 9/8/2009 at 06:21 PM

$9.99 each at Vintage Vinyl in St. Louis. Also, Beatles St. Louis cover band, Pepperland, will be performing a free acoustic set at 2pm tomorrow. http://www.myspace.com/pepperlandstl

Vintage Vinyl is looking to make sure that’s where you go to pick up remastered versions of the Beatles catalogue when it’s released Sept. 9.

All of the Beatles’ studio albums, with extras, will be released in digitally remastered versions, and fans can swoop up the CDs for $9.99 each on release day only Sept. 9 at Vintage Vinyl.

Those albums include “Let It Be,” “Revolver,” “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” and “A Hard Day’s Night,” among other classics.

The CDs’ suggested retail prices are at about $18.97 each, though most outlets will be carrying it at a more affordable price.

Also at Vintage Vinyl, local band Pepperland will perform an acoustic set of Beatles songs at 2 p.m. Sept. 9.

The long wait is over.

September 9th will see the unveiling of the long-awaited remastered Beatles catalogue, and we say it’s about time; 13 studio albums, plus the two Past Masters collections, a Stereo Box Set AND a Limited Edition Mono CD Box are all available on 9/9/09, and Vintage Vinyl is ready to make it a real celebration by offering EVERY SINGLE DISC STUDIO ALBUM at $9.99 on that Wednesday only!!

We repeat: every single disc studio album, from Rubber Soul to Meet The Beatles, Sgt. Pepper to Help! , will be only $9.99, but you have to grab this on release day, Wednesday, September 9th.

Each new re-mastered single CD features limited edition deluxe packaging with expanded liner notes and previously unseen photos; the initial limited run will also contain its own mini-documentary in a QuickTime file. After this edition is sold out, subsequent copies will not have the documentary.

We shall also have a limited quantity of the 10,000 run Mono Box Set---eleven albums/13 discs, in a hard glossy slip box, with all the mono tracks and EP releases never seen on the original albums. The CDs will be packaged as mini-LP replicas, with Help! and Rubber Soul discs offering the original stereo mixes as well as the mono mix (these were released in the 60s both ways). Yellow Submarine, Abbey Road, and Let It Be will not be in the Mono box, given they were recorded originally in stereo. The Stereo Box (which is not a limited edition), will have deluxe packaging and shall contain all 13 mini-documentaries for the individual LPs, in a glossy black hard lift-top with magnetic clasp.

Of course, we’re celebrating this release extravaganza with a few added touches----noted local band Pepperland will be performing a special acoustic set of songs from the Fab Four here at 2PM, and we have a few more surprises we’ll lay out as the day grows closer.

It may not be the Parting Of The Red Sea, but this long-awaited event will finally give the music fans a really proper roll-out and re-mastering of the most fabled music to ever come from the British Isles, so just remember:

It Will Be $9.99 On 9/9/09. At Vintage Vinyl.

Again, Walmart is selling them TODAY in South Carolina. My coworker is listening to Let It b right now that he bought at lunch, and it really does sound a lot better than the earlier releases.

I just saw that there is going to be a Beatles video game! For some reason that strikes me as very strange.

Maybe, but check out the trailer at www.beatlesrockband.com

It is absolutely amazing! To see what they have done with the music and video is unbelievable

Ditto that. They also have a way to do 3 part harmony!! All of the surviving Beatles and the estate representatives of the deceased Beatles were involved with the production of the game.

EasyMichael - 9/9/2009 at 12:22 AM

I hope to order the stereo box set tomorrow. I'd like the mono mixes, too, but a man's got to know his limitations...

I really hope these sound as amazing as I hope they will. (Did that make sense?)

hughduty - 9/9/2009 at 01:44 AM

I bought the re-mastered "Rubber Soul" this evening....it's excellent & the packaging is very cool...on my 4th listen right now....gonna pick up 4 more tomorrow.....great stuff !!

No1ToRunWith - 9/9/2009 at 01:48 AM

After reading this earlier tonight I went to my Target to look at the cd's. When I went all the Beatles Cd's were pulled from the dept.

musicmann - 9/9/2009 at 01:51 AM

I am waiting to get my mono set delivered! Really looking forward to this

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it....I mean the Beatles records were always way ahead of the rest in trying new things.....it's just really strange to think of them as a video game. Guess I'm showing my age.

pops42 - 9/9/2009 at 04:35 AM

Tomorrow to do list:

1. pick up copy of remastered "revolver"
2. twist up a fat one, and give her a spin

michaelsio - 9/9/2009 at 12:10 PM

Just checked. Amazon has the mono box set in stock (ships in 4-5 days) for $229.

Just got the email alert too. I bought it from another seller and paid about $20 more. I was not sure how long they would take to get extra stock so I went elswhere.
I do want the discs that they actually recorded in stereo so I will pick up those indivudual discs-Yellow Submarine, Let it Be and Abby Road I think were the only ones originally recorded in stereo.
