Charlie Daniels: We Almost Lost Our Country Last Fall

By Charlie Daniels | January 23, 2018 | 9:05 AM EST

We almost lost our country last fall. America was unwittingly on the precipice of becoming a nation whose government was willing to go to illegal and devious lengths to maintain the status quo.

I believe that the information that will be forthcoming in the next few weeks will be both astonishing and frightening to the American public, information that was never meant to see the light of day, much less the scrutiny of the American people.

I believe there will be irrefutable evidence of collusion among the upper echelons of the Democratic Party, actually denying any candidate except Hillary Clinton a chance to be their presidential candidate.

I believe there will be evidence of the same people and their Democrat puppets in Congress to foist a false dossier, undocumented, totally unsubstantiated and paid for by the Democrats, on the American public aided by their serfs in the media that would falsely tie Donald Trump, his associates and members of his inner circle with the Russian government.

I believe there will be proof of the weaponizing of federal agencies and personnel and collusion between the Obama justice department and the FBI.

We already know that the Internal Revenue Service was used to deprive citizens’ groups of their rights, and we know the guilty parties are still walking the street.

None of this was ever supposed to come to light. They were so arrogant and confident that Hillary Clinton was going to be president and all the garbage would be buried, the guilty parties would still be in power and that the socialist-globalist agenda of Barack Obama would go forth, that they didn't even take the time to properly cover their footprints.

And now, due to some diligent digging and dogged persistence by the few journalists who don't live in the leftist puppy pound, the sordid and dangerous truth is starting to come out.

At this juncture, we don't know how deep the corruption goes or how high up the ramifications will reach, but it starts at the director level and could go all the way to the top.

These are the same people who perceived the American public to be gullible enough to believe that the murder of a United States Ambassador and three other Americans in Benghazi was caused by an anti-Muslim video, created by some faceless, nameless character, who, to this day, nobody seems to know the whereabouts of.

And that in the course of thirteen hours, the greatest military on the planet couldn't have executed a rescue plan. (And by the way, there is new evidence in the air on that Obama-Clinton debacle also).

It was all planned out. Hillary would be elected by a landslide. All the dirt would have been covered up. The guilty parties would go free, and ultraliberal immigration policies would have been instituted, a quick path to citizenship established and an unbeatable voter base created to guarantee a Democrat government ad infinitum.

The entitlement rolls would have grown exponentially, the economy would have continued its downward spiral, as the Clinton government would have adopted the anti-business, pro-taxes policies of the Obama administration. The national debt, which Obama doubled while he was in office, would have expanded, and America would have continued to be viewed around the world as a wimpy, out of control former superpower, not worthy of either prestige or respect.

Our military would have continued to be neglected and downsized, and the velvet glove treatment of Islamic terrorists would be maintained.

Religious freedom would have continued to be stifled, and government bureaucracies and power would have grown until its tentacles would have reached into every facet of life.

Washington, even at its best, is a fetid swamp crawling with those who have sold their respectability, honor and constituents, and the nation for that matter, for a few more years of power.

At its worst, it's a concerted effort by politicians, who – even though they know they are proliferating a lie – they smugly push any scheme, no matter how underhanded, that will give their accursed political party an edge, even to the point of trying to decertify the election of a duly-elected president.

Does anybody actually think that Schumer, Pelosi and the rest of the Democrats, and a couple of RINOs, actually care about the dreamers?

Well, they have claimed that they care about the minorities for fifty years, but what have they done for them?

All the dreamers or the minorities mean to these burnt charlatans are votes, pure and simple. Just give us your vote, and go back to the ghetto and wait for another fifty years.

America walked on thin ice and almost fell through, only the grace of God kept us from it.

Pray for our troops, our police and the peace of Jerusalem.

God Bless America

Charlie Daniels

Oh Charlie! I love the music he and his band created in the 70s, but how often does he do these open letters?

MartinD28 - 1/24/2018 at 02:20 AM

Does anyone really care what CD thinks or says about politics? He probably knows no more than most of the posters on this site. We've had this similar discussion before. Who gives a crap what musicians or actors think or say about politics.

Do what you do best - play your music, Charlie.

jkeller - 1/24/2018 at 03:23 AM

Right wingers think that celebs should keep their opinion to themselves. Unless, of course, if their opinions align with the right.

BrerRabbit - 1/24/2018 at 03:53 AM

ANOTHER open letter from Charlie Daniels? As if his infernal sawing on the fiddle wasn't enough.

StratDal - 1/24/2018 at 04:30 AM

ok

Personally, I've always thought Charlie Daniels is over-rated and takes himself too seriously.

pops42 - 1/24/2018 at 06:06 AM

Overrated & Overweight A$$clown.

Last week The Uneasy Rider himself cautioned Taco Bell not to mess with the Illuminati. Maybe start ignoring this guy.

http://www.foxnews.com/food-drink/2018/01/10/charlie-daniels-warns-taco-bel l-illuminati-is-not-frivolous-subject.html

quote:

Charlie DaniCharlie Daniels warns Taco Bell: ‘The illuminati is not a frivolous subject'els isn’t too keen on Taco Bell’s new ad campaign..

The country artist, perhaps best known for the 1979 hit “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” took to Twitter on Monday night to admonish Taco Bell for joking about the Illuminati, presumably after he became aware of the Tex-Mex chain’s new commercials for its $1 menu.

“Hey Taco Bell,” tweeted Daniels, 81. “The Illuminati is not a frivolous subject.”

Taco Bell’s ad campaign — which centers around a fictitious “Belluminati” filled with cloaked, ominous figures — first debuted in mid-December, shortly after the restaurant announced plans to add 20 new $1 items to its existing value menu through 2018. The commercials also depict the “Belluminati” as a secret society that controls the $1 menu from their hidden headquarters, clearly mocking the idea of a secret society of power-players and influencers controlling modern society.

Daniels didn’t elaborate on his warnings to Taco Bell, but the musician, 81, has written about the Illuminati and “shadow governments” in the past. In a 2015 Facebook post, Daniels admitted that the idea of a such organizations are “hard for [him] to swallow,” but he didn’t rule out the possibility of a secret society operating “behind the scenes.”

“I do have some very deep suspicions about people who operate behind the scenes and have undue and unmerited influence in the halls of power of the international political scene,” Daniels admitted.

Meanwhile, the majority of Daniels’ Twitter followers don’t appear to be nearly as concerned about the “Belluminati” as he is. Over a thousand commenters have since responded to his post, many of whom were making light of his warning to Taco Bell.

Taco Bell declined to comment on the tweet to Fox News.

I actually believe much of what CD says. And this is coming from a person that used to lean more left than right at one time. Once you step out of the "matrix", you see the world for how it really functions and appears and it isn't as nice as what is protrayed.

Stephen - 1/24/2018 at 03:28 PM

What comes across to me in his columns is, he's a great American patriot who loves his country enough to speak out about it -- feel much more of a positive than negative vibe in his writings -- don't agree w/everything Charlie says but he encourages civil discourse in the name of the red, white and blue -- glad he gets his stuff out there

DWB - 1/24/2018 at 04:18 PM

In 76, ol' Charlie traveled traveled the Southland doing
fund raisers for the Jimmy Carter for president (demo party).
I always felt his style was whats big at time artist, copying
everything that had been done in Macon and trying to pass it
off as original. Just maybe his cowboy hats are way to tight
these days.

Agreed. But does this apply to Meryl Streep, Robert Deniro, Amy Schummer, Whoopi and all of the "Celebs" who use their status to broadcast their (Anti-right) political beliefs?...Seems like some here were literally told to crawl back into their holes when they stated their opinions about Hollywood and its influence.

But hey, everybody has a right to the thoughts?....right?

Sorry Keanu, there is no matrix... Just a singular reality we all live in and your individual capacity to process that reality, or not. If you believe in Illuminati, deep state, and a system that is deviously controlled by powerful old men in secret societies out to get you... you're not enlightened. You are paranoid.

The problem with Charlie Daniels' rants is that they are blindly partisan and racist. He chooses to see half the issue, and he's pretty damn self-righteous about it. Much like those who complain when leftist celebrities speak their mind, yet proudly pass along Daniels' rhetoric.

The USA spent the 20th century toppling south American, southeast Asian, Middle Eastern, and African governments in order to fight communism and promote its own capitalist interests. That hasn't changed in the 21st century. This isn't partisan, and in many cases we were in the right - in some cases we seriously messed up countries for decades, resulting in our current Prez calling them "sh1tholes" and trying to make an issue out of keeping those people out. International meddling is what every single President has done since TR, regardless of party. As Michael Corleone says, we are all a part of the same hypocrisy. For the Uneasy Rider to constantly rant as if one party (let alone, one member of that party) is culpable for deception and international incidents is about as ignorant as ignorant gets.

I haven't seen any Amy Schumer threads here. No one here really cares what they think, the only people here passing their opinions along are the ones telling them to shut it, yet every other Charlie Daniels open letter gets shared here as if it means something.

I didn't share, nor do I recall anyone else sharing, Meryl Streep's message here, nor did I watch the Golden Globes. She can say what she wants, just like Charlie can.

Maybe change your name to "Straw Man". Thanks for missing and proving my point.

Such a bizarre obsession that you have with liberals. It sure does make you unravel. You realize hypocrisy exists in everyone, right? I think you get bashed here so much because you’re confused about what makes you angry, and it causes you to post a bunch of nonsense.

Don't say Gina and I didn't warn you! This ad campaign is a harbinger of the Burrito of Doom! Foretold by time-traveling elders! Listen to Charlie Daniels! After all, he whipped the Devil's ass with just that screechy out-of-tune fiddle! Of course, he couldn't be bothered to serve in the military but he sure thinks it's a good idea if others go off to get shot.

Well yes, everyone has a right to their thoughts. And we all have the right to not be interested in the thoughts of those who are in the public spotlight who use their pulpit to express their personal beliefs. That is why I stated in my original post, "Who gives a crap what musicians or actors think or say about politics."

And to qualify that even further when you listed several liberals - my personal (repeat my personal) belief is that it applies to liberals and conservatives. I don't care what anyone in the entertainment industry says or writes with a politically motivated angle.

"Am I coming down equally hard on CD"? . Yes, because I really do not care one Iota what "celebs" think or espouse. Do they have a right to their opinions? Most certainly. What I find funny is the same cast of characters who come down on CD while also jumping on those who are critical of Hollywood. I don't care what Meryl says, I have disdain for her thinking I care or want to hear what she has to say. I do not. I do not want hear or read CD's thoughts either. For me?..Whether I agree or disagree matters only to me; I would rather they begin to view themselves and what they think as important as, well .......who gives a rat's a**?.

I don't want to hear it.

Show me one example of them blasting all Republicans or conservatives as a whole, and I’ll accuse them of the same thing. Hating people for their values is as bad as hating someone for the color of their skin, whether coming from the left or right. It’s not the party, it’s the person.

I think it requires more than that. A patriot doesn’t disparage I half the country’s population because of their political affiliation and values. That’s no better than hating someone for the color of their skin. Patriot my a$$.

gina - 1/25/2018 at 09:46 PM

It's kinda simple. The devil came to the US, he was looking for some souls to steal, he was in a bind, cause he was way behind, and he's always willing to make some deals.

We are in prophetic times. Charlie doesn't know the Muslim prophecies, but what is going on geographically and politically is in line with information handed down 1500 years ago. That is pretty amazing in and of itself.

The new temple that will be built in Jerusalem on the site of Temple Mount is part of that prophecy. This new temple will be completed within the year because part of it is already pre-fabricated. When the current Dome is taken the Dome of the Rock during construction, a new intifada will begin. When Al Aqsa mosque is damaged during construction, one of the most holiest sites in Islam (you have the masjid in Mecca, the one in Madinah - the Prophet's masjid, and Al Aqsa in Jerusalem) you have destroyed sacred grounds of Muslims. It would be like razing the Vatican so some other religious group could come in and worship, and Rome and the Vatican will be attacked that is in the prophecies also. A worldwide holy war will commence. Those who plan the renovations in Jerusalem probably do not know that the Israel God talks about are the peoples from the land of Judah, not just modern day Jews, who do not even believe in Jesus and his role as the Prince of Peace and future ruler of Jerusalem. So why are modern day Jews whose religious beliefs do not even include Jesus given such special treatment that Trump withholds $40 something billion dollars in humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people unless they recognize and submit themselves to modern day Israel? He does not know. The modern day Jews who believe they are above everyone else and are the chosen people are incorrect.

The people of Judah, which includes a lot more than some of the modern day Jews are the ones to inherit Jerusalem, and that includes Christians and Muslims who were forced to migrate during years of wars and world misunderstandings.

Does anyone in Washington realize that the peoples of the original tribes of Israel have claim to the land, and that includes some of the people currently in Palestine.

Couldn't disagree more BoyntonBro -- you can disagree w/someone/something w/out hating/disparaging on them/it
Only rarely read his columns
have yet to Ever see where his was disparaging/condescending/hateful toward people -- what some see as black, others see as white, as they saying goes -- what some people see as belligerent "rants," I see as more calm, thought-provoking in his column writings --
& he always ends them w/"What Do You Think?"

"we ain't lookin to start no wars
unless they come invadin' our shores"

The only person I know who ends his comments with "What do you think? " is Robert Reich.

daniels is a clownservative big mouth.

Damn shame we got stuck with charlie to open for ZZ Top after Gregg had to cancel.

He has a "forum" where you are free to express your opinions, as long as he agrees with them. [if not, you will be banned]

Agreed, except he didn’t do that. He disparaged several times in the letter.

“America would have continued to be viewed around the world as a wimpy, out of control former superpower, not worthy of either prestige or respect.”

Good to know that you don’t view the words puppy pound, puppets, wimpy. out of control, not worthy of prestige and respect, as civil and thought-provoking. If that’s your version of appropriate, then good luck to you.

Did he "spout off" about his hate of "libruls"?

OriginalGoober - 1/26/2018 at 02:39 AM

Puppy pound is a cute descriptor, you can never guess what triggers a lefty.

BoytonBrother - 1/26/2018 at 02:09 PM

What is a lefty and a Trump supporter anyway? I bet there are lots of Trump supporters that disagree with one another and don't like one another, and the same for Obama supporters.

Absolutely! I mean, look at his record of military service - especially in light of his strident support of sending troops into battle! A strong, patriotic history of calling for others to go to war!

Someone who claims that others do not understand the plight of Illegal Aliens while not fully grasping the Tax burden on citizens here?

I fully understand the tax burden. You fully understand their plight, and still use the tax burden to justify your disparagement and hatred of them. A better person rises above that low level crap. Please continue.

Listen to his song MIA -- it decries the same thing you're accusing him of -- how wrong it is sending people off to war, esp. w/no hope of bringing them home --
he's not a warmonger -- a redneck yes, a warmonger/racist/hating bellicose bastard he's been portrayed as, no

Unfortunately, true. I don't think CD's music is very good.

I would say, his column would better reflect his feelings NOW, more than a song he wrote 30 or 40 years ago. peace, have a fine weekend!.

Stop with the peace have a fine weekend already!

Love Charlie's stuff -- it's all in what one hears -- I dig their song American Farmer (CDB's) -- his ode to his ranch in Twin Pines Theme -- their take of Jimmy Dean's Big Bad John -- of course Wooley Swamp -- I have his religion-oriented "The Door" CD & like it a lot -- 1st song, The Business Of Love

StratDal chek out Redneck Fiddlin Man -- they cover Much musical terrain in 5 min --
Midnight Train is another good CDB 'sampler' type song -- it's all good bro

I lost all respect for him after his born again decision to change the lyrics to his songs like Long Haired Country Boy.

Used to see him and Marshall Tucker regularly in the 70's, saw him at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo in 79.

Wouldn't pay to see him now, wasn't happy he opened for ZZ Top, too many maga morons in the crowd.
