Thread: MOOGIS Subscription Problem

Duey - 2/11/2010 at 03:25 PM

Yesterday I re-subscribed to Moogis and paid with my credit card. Payment has been verified. I am still unable to login. I recieve no email of Moogis confirmation for activation or anything.....but they sure got my payment. I have tried everything and nothing works. Email from the Moogis website was sent in and go unanswered. I am now at a loss of what to do.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I couldn't find a phone number to call, just their email system.

Duey - 2/11/2010 at 06:18 PM

The issue is now resolved. The Moogis staff are great. I can now login.

foppa - 2/11/2010 at 06:45 PM

The harsh reality that all of the Beacon 2009 run will be gone from Moogis in less than a month is tough to take. I'm guessing it's about artist releases or some contractual cabbage.

Te forums being wiped clean is an inconvenience, but not the end of the world.

Any chance of adding the 10.3 09 Charlotte show w/ Jimmy?

Butch Trucks - 2/11/2010 at 07:37 PM

We have just switched from our old site to our new and upgraded site. It will take a day or two to get things settled in. We are in the process of switching all of the archives and all of the forums, groups and everything else that was on the old site to the new one. Please be patient while we get everything ready for March 11. I promise noone will be displeased.

Butch Trucks - 2/11/2010 at 07:45 PM

I wouldn't call it cabbage exactly. When we did last year's run we got all of the 65 special guests to give Moogis a one year license to web cast their talents. They were all gracious enough to give this to us. We could probably get away with keeping the shows up and most, if not all, of those guests would probably not do anything about it. This, however, would not be the ethical thing to do therefore I will not do it. When the subscriptions went on sale you were all told what the terms were. In 28 days it will have been a year. The first shows will have run the course of their license and we will not continue to show them. We will, however, be going live from The United Palace for this year's run and those shows will remain up until next March.

Butch Trucks - 2/11/2010 at 07:46 PM

Oh. And the forums are bring moved, they have not been wiped. See above. Thanks guys for understanding and please help spread the word.

Mule75 - 2/11/2010 at 09:21 PM

Hey Butch,

What about the 3/26 Anniversary show?? This one was my favorite, and no guests...even better. Will this one still be available on Moogis??

Butch Trucks - 2/12/2010 at 03:19 PM

I'll talk to the guys at rehearsal. That should be very doable. Good suggestion.

lolasdeb - 2/12/2010 at 03:27 PM

Yeah! Thanks, Butch! Just re-upped my subscription yesterday, also, and ran into same logon problems Duey describes. Then got busy with work and couldn't follow-up over there so it was nice to come here this AM and already have my questions answered! Moogis rocks and I am looking forward to NYC 2010!

Butch, the problem I have is that I only subscribed the very first time late in the evening on Feb 10. When I did so the banner on the "new subscription" tab said "full access to all beacon shows" (the main selling point for me, I wanted to watch the 5 I was at, and a few I wasn't!) and also "50+ archived shows". 5 minutes later when I log in I only have access to like 4 shows TOTAL, one of them being a Beacon show. Then I find out there's no real timetable for when the Beacon shows will be added back and seeing as how there were only 18 days left between my subscription and the expiration of the Beacon shows not being able to access them is a pretty big bummer for me... At the subscription page there was no mention that only 5-6% of the total content would accessible.

Can you give some specifics of exactly when all the Beacon '09 shows will be loaded back up? If it's goiing to be a delay I'll probably need to request a refund.

Thank you.

jfk2112 - 2/12/2010 at 09:01 PM

I just found this thread after trying to log in to Moogis today. I was unable to sign in, it keeps telling me I have an invalid user account. I renewed in January and have been able to login since. I'm hoping this is just a glitch due to the server migration. Anyone else having that problem?

Yeah I'm having that problem too. I've tried resetting my password multiple times but I don't get an email from Moogis to be able to do so. I was really hoping to see those two new shows starting tonight. Anyways, I'm sure it will clear up. I'm also hoping that its just a temporary glitch.

obxfleet - 2/13/2010 at 01:06 AM

Just figured out my problem. For some reason the email was being sent to my junk box. Dumb oversight on my part, but I'm stoked its fixed. Watchin the new Raleigh show now! I was there with my sis. Total blast!

I don't get any e-mail from Moogis....
I did reset my password again and again, still nothing happen.
I'm a Macintosh user and always use Safari for browsing, got no error with it, but I tried to change it to Firefox and got no success neither.

I got an email today from Moogis saying to use the "Butch told me to reset my password" portal. Have you tried that? Have you checked your junk emails? I'm not at all familiar with Mac.

Thank you for your suggestion. Much appreciated.
I've done it as you mentioned over and over, more than 20 times. However, no e-mail comes, also nothing can be found in my junk box folder of my mailer.
Anyway thanks again and I'll try again later.....

jfk2112 - 2/13/2010 at 03:27 AM

I'm still getting the invalid user account message. No one from moogis has responded to my email from this afternoon either. Hopefully it will work tomorrow.

MDD - 2/13/2010 at 03:46 AM

I was starting to get frustrated as well. Good call on the Junk folder. I never check there and sure enough I had about 5 reset your password emails from tonight. Thanks

berkhath - 2/13/2010 at 12:49 PM

Since Butch's email on the 11th I get this message:

"Safari can’t open the page “https://www.moogis.com/” because Safari can’t establish a secure connection to the server “www.moogis.com”.

Anyone else get same?

But it's working this morning.......

Hey... I just did that "Butch told me to reset my password" thing and it said to check my email to continue resetting my password, but I haven't received an email.

So now I can't log in. Is this normal?

As long as I will be getting an email and can resolve it, I'm cool, I just don't want this to be some weird thing and I get lost in the shuffle...

Thanks, that is a great suggestion, but I have already done that. I have also just double checked to see if any have arrived.

jersey_devil - 2/14/2010 at 03:02 PM

Can't reset password or register for forums. No email comes from moogiis (yes I
checked spam folder). Tried like 7 times, no email.

not happy

Duey - 2/14/2010 at 03:53 PM

Thank you very much Butch for all that you and the band have done for MOOGIS. I now login with no problems. I've been watching some of the archieved stuff from last year and I still love it.

The only noticable issues between the Beacon shows and the Tour shows it the Audio, the levels are so different. The Beacon shows are of course excellent quality. Im running the Dual Channel on my Wireless Router and what a difference it has made. I virtually have No Lag or video hang ups.

Some more of the Beacon shows will be nice and I Butch can have a Live Feed during rehearsals, that would great.

Happy MOOGIS everyone.

Tau - 2/14/2010 at 07:18 PM

I have just discovered that email via Comcast from Moogis is not passing through - at least not for me. This is a new development, not more than a week old. I am contacting Comcast now to get them to stop filtering my account so stringently.

Just to clarify, I sent an inquiry via the form on Moogis first using my Comcast account and asking for a copy to be sent to me as well. In 24 hours no such copy has arrived via my Comcast account. Today I attempted the same but immediately followed this action using my Gmail account and asking that a copy be presented to that account. Again, no copy was found through Comcast, but the copy sent to Gmail was instantaneous. Comcast has been alerted to the problem. If any other users of Comcast are experiencing the same issues herein described I would advise frst experimenting with an alternate email provider as I have done and then alerting Comcast to their continually shoddy service as I have also done.

Tau - 2/14/2010 at 07:54 PM

Comcast Security Team has just called in response to the ticket I have opened re the email issue. They believe it is entirely on their side of things and are contacting the Admins @ Moogis to resolve the issue and prevent the problem from reoccuring.

[Edited on 2/14/2010 by Tau]

Tau - 2/14/2010 at 08:01 PM

And now one more thing: Butch if you're thinking of hanging on to the ABB-only Anniversary show, why not also use it to generate interest in Moogis? There is a high def channel on TV called Palladia that has some very cool concerts. However, they could use some ABB. And Moogis could use the advertising.

This is interesting, because I have Comcast too. Although I have been getting ALL of Moogis' emails, EXCEPT the one to reset my password. And it's still not in my junkbox.

I am not complaining, but I am disappointed because I had a whole weekend to watch and play with Moogis before I start several more busy weeks (where I'll have little, if any, chance) and the weekends almost over and I can't use it. I really wish it would get resolved.

Tau - 2/14/2010 at 08:37 PM

Exactly, PG. My own experience mirrors your own. Again, these factors have all been supplied to Comcast who are investigating. If you or any other Comcast customers wish to contact your provider and supply them with your own experiences per this problem then the ticket number I have may be helpful: CR195963333.

Yes, thank you very much. I will.

bobbyr - 2/14/2010 at 11:31 PM

The same thing has been happening to me - I tried to reset my password several times but have never gotten the e-mail to do so. I tried signing up on the forum & it said no such user. I e-mailed to the moogis site for help & haven't gotten an answer either. I, too, wanted to watch, especially tonight.

jfk2112 - 2/15/2010 at 03:50 AM

I keep getting the invalid user account message too. It's starting to seriously piss me off especially since I sent them an email and got no response in 2 days. They must be using the same people as Munck.

jersey_devil - 2/15/2010 at 06:22 PM

Still not able to reset password or register for forums.

No email is returned to my email (comcast).

Sent 3rd message to technical support @ moogis

Same here--day four. Getting pretty annoyed that I haven't gotten any response to my emails.

I didn't get an email response for resetting my forum user account either.

T

bobbyr - 2/16/2010 at 12:05 AM

Me either. And there's no phone number to call to report the problem!.

Eaglesgreen - 2/16/2010 at 12:14 AM

I had trouble getting the password e-mail too. I e-mailed Moogis over the weekend and received their e-mails today. Not sure if took care of it or if the e-mails were just delayed. For those still waiting, try the Contact option and e-mail them about a technical issue. Good luck.

jersey_devil - 2/16/2010 at 02:25 AM

I've "emailed" them three times over the last 3 days with no response. It's
not really email but a web form you fill out. I asked to have a copy sent to my
email and also got nothing, so who knows if that even works.

jersey_devil - 2/16/2010 at 03:27 AM

I don't think I can use another email provider. My moogis account is tied to my comcast
email. That's what I used to sign up orginally and the email that I used to pay for
(both) renewals via paypal.

I only used my gmail account as a means to test the web form functionality which I can report as being fine. However, my own Moogis account is tied to my Comcast email account in the same manner as your own. Therefore, I made certain in that email to alert the Moogis admins that my real account lay elsewhere and provided them with the necessary information.

thetrees - 2/16/2010 at 04:56 PM

Well I just sent Butch a private message regarding my log in issues---same as the others here. Will keep you all posted.

T

thebowl - 2/16/2010 at 06:43 PM

I had this same problem over the weekend. I also use Comcast but I don't think it had anything to do with my problem.

I sent an email to Butch and I also sent one using the "Contact us" link on the site (I am working from memory). I got an acknowledgment of the "contact us" email within a day and then a new password by email either yesterday or maybe Sunday night.

Butch, you need some more content. It is admirable for you to honor your word by not keeping up the guest shows past the date on which you agreed to remove them, but why not ask some of the guests if they mind you extending the shows for another month (or year)? Would they really mind if you asked them?

CowboyNeil - 2/17/2010 at 01:42 AM

Butch, since the Moogis was such a high quality product I decided to get on board and signed up last night. Same problem as others

1. Payment was made
2 Login not allowed, invalid user comes up
3 went to faq and told to load Firefox, and adjust with tools, did still can't log in
4. emailed Moogis last nite, and this afternoon, still have not gotten a response
5, Hope things are fixed and my membership should start when I am allowed to log in
6 Not off to a great start here

also I see you have gone with another video company. I hope they are as good as the company you used last year as that was some of the best live footage ever filmed.

lonomon - 2/17/2010 at 02:22 PM

After sending an email to Jeremy, he got me logged in to watch shows.

Which I can't really see. Very glitchy.

Tried to re-register for the forums. No response as of yet.

New email to Jeremy this morning.

and yes, I am also on Comcast.

Not gettin the warm fuzzies on this deal lately ...

jersey_devil - 2/17/2010 at 06:00 PM

Time for my daily attemp to reset my password on Moogis.

I send 5 requests to reset via the web site. No email so far.

Yesterday I also did 5 and got not email.

Yesterday I sent 2 requests through their contact web page using my comcast
email and 1 using a new gmail address. I did get the copy of my request
using my gmail account, but no response and still not able to reset password
today.

Anyone have any actual email addresses to contact to get this fixed.

If this is any indication of the experience we are going to have in March, then
Moogis will not making as a going concern. I suspect they went with a cheaper
web provider/video streamer since they lost money last year. Poor performance
this year will kill the service.

[Edited on 2/17/2010 by jersey_devil]

thebowl - 2/17/2010 at 06:29 PM

Yeah, I guess I should add that I briefly watched part of two shows last night and the video quality left a lot to be desired, just a lot of choppiness. I would not pay for that level of quality and sure do hope that it is not indicative of what can be expected from the new provider.

I feel your pain jersey_devil. Sounds like you are experiencing the same problems as me (and the same frustrations re: not having emails/requests left on Moogis acknowledged) Wish I knew some email address to get us both contact on this. Good luck!

jersey_devil - 2/17/2010 at 09:08 PM

The saga continues. Sent a bizzilion requests through the technical request
form on the web. Registered on the Moogis forum under a different email and
added my complaint to the growing list there.

If this keeps up I guess I will have to ask for a refund. I guess I can dispute the
charges through paypal.

oh well...

jersey_devil - 2/17/2010 at 09:13 PM

From the new interview, what I feared is what happened....

Let’s talk about Moogis, which you’ve confirmed is returning this year. Does the United Palace, being an older theater, necessitate any changes to your set-up from last year?

Well, we’re not using the same set-up. Technology has evolved drastically since last year, and we’re going to run it all over an Internet connection this year. From what I’ve been told, we will have a better signal just using the Internet connection. With what we had last year, we pretty much had the ability to withstand anything short of a nuclear explosion. We think it’s not worth all that it cost us for that. This year we can do it for much cheaper, and with the new compression techniques – plus more bandwidth available – most people will get a much better signal than last year and it’ll cost us 20 to 25 percent of what it did last year.

bobbyr - 2/18/2010 at 12:22 AM

Same thing here, guys. No response whatsoever. Doesn't Butch look here? I'm sorry now I renewed my subscription.

jersey_devil - 2/18/2010 at 12:36 AM

Butch does look here but I haven't seen that he's been online since Feb 12 post on this thread. I did send him a PM but so far haven't had any response.

It seems like there are quite a few of us with the same situation. Perhaps somebody from Moogis could PM each of us posting here with problems and try and help us out?

As Sue stated there is a thread in the forum on Moogis that you can view even if you are not logged in that will probably offer the most help. One of the Moogis tech support guys is posting to it offering assistance, he says they are aware that people are having some difficulties and that they are trying to resolve it ASAP. Here is a post from one guy who had a similar problem to everyone here, the tech support helped him and resolved the issue, here is what the User posted as advice for fixing the issue:

As described above I also had problems with receiving mails for the password reset, from form requests to the tech support and registering to the forum. I am not using comcast and according to other posts some folks have a tough time as well.

With the help of the tech support I was able to get my subscription and forum accounts up and running today, so here are some suggestions what to do if you don't get mails when trying to reset your password:

1. If you don't already have a gmail account, create one. Google does not seem to filter any messages (at least not those from Moogis).

2. Send a request to the tech support using the form 'Contacts' -> 'Technical Inquiries'

- tell them the mail address you are using for your Moogis subscription
- ask to forward the latest request for the password reset to your gmail account
- if you want to get a copy of the form request, enter your gmail address and tick 'E-mail a copy of this message to your own address.'

3. If you received the mail for the password request from the tech support, click on the link and set a new password. In case you get an error message 'Invalid user account' you either sent a new password request again or you did not receive the latest password request. Ask the tech support if there are any newer requests.

4. Once you successfully changed your password, you can login to Moogis again.

If you already had problems with the password request, you should also use the gmail address to register to the forum. Once you activated the account by clicking on the link that is sent to you by mail, you can change your mail address in your profile settings to the one you want to use (My Profile -> Edit Your Details).

Hope that helps.

Just sent an email to info@moogis.com and recieved an instant automated response that Jeremy would respond within 24 hours.

Will keep you posted.

CowboyNeil - 2/18/2010 at 09:36 PM

OK, The guy Jeremy solved my problem.

Deb, use the email I sent and tell him you are getting invalid, have him check you account. He got back to me with my email and a new password which WORKED, yeah!

Anyways I hope your tech problems are solved and we are chatting watching the show here in a couple of weeks

thetrees - 2/18/2010 at 09:57 PM

Recieved an email from tech help and was finally able to log on so I can view videos(haven't tried to watch one yet, so I'll hold off on commenting about video quality/stream).

But, still unable to log in to the forum. So, I sent another request for help.

I would recommend emailing info@moogis.com. I won't say I'm impressed with the response because it took five days for them to figure out the problem. Just glad to get my Moogis back.

quote:

Some comments on the changes from last year to this year. Last year they had a T1 connection. This is a 1.54Mbit dedicated symetrical pipe (1.54 both up and down).
This year they are talking about using an "internet connection". Some comments.

The T1 costs more because it is a dedicated resource. You are not sharing infrastructure
with other users. The internet connection (unless it's FIOS) will be going through the
shared infrastructure of (probably) a cable company. Thus other users activity can
impact both the speed of your connection and, perhaps more importantly, the latency.
This is the value of the T1, speed and latency are fairly constant and not impacted
by other users. Hopefully if a few neighboring internet users crank up bittorrents we won't see the
live feed impacted. This is exactly what happend with my internet connection (comcast)
and they will slow down my activity if the node I'm on gets congested.

The other issue is that the T1 is symetrical while most internet connections are not.
Most people do much more downloading than uploading so the network infrastructure
has much more bandwidth allocated to downstream than upstream.

Hopefully the people at Moogis know what they are doing and these issues
will not come up, but I'm begining to have a bad feeling about this.

Tau - 2/19/2010 at 06:16 PM

Have also emailed info@moogis.com from gmail. Will report on progress.

Tau - 2/19/2010 at 09:48 PM

This is what the Moogis Admins tell me:

"Hi .....thanx so much for your help on this Comcast thing.
I too have been delving heavily into this and below you can see from the logs on our server, that Comcast is putting our emails into a Temporary Holding pattern.
Trouble is.....we never seem to get out of that.......and let the mail pass through.

I am calling Comcast right now and I will forward them our mail logs.....to prove to them what is going on.
We should have this resolved very soon.

thanx again..............df"

I have not included the logs, but I can assure you that there were many.

Well, after reading all of this I will hold off a bit longer before I pay my $150.00. Last year I experienced no glitches at all. I don't know why they would change it but if it's not as good as last year Moogis will take a huge hit. I doubt that Butch and his crew would be stupid enough to put out a lousy product and kill all of the work they have done. Butch said that the picture for the upcoming run would be superior to last years and be in HD. If they don't deliver they will suffer the consequences when nobody re ups next year.

Please keep us updated on the progress of this.

lonomon - 2/20/2010 at 06:18 PM

Well, now I'm totally eff'g pissed off.

I still have no authorization to sign into the forum

The password I got to get into watching the shows
has again been disbaled

I tried to open a gmail account out of frustration
and keeps sending me to Paypal for another $150

Eff this

sixty8 - 2/20/2010 at 08:10 PM

I hope Butch or someone else comes on here soon to explain what's going on. I am glad now that I didn't re up sooner. I want to be sure it's gonna be as good as last year before I order. All I have heard so far is that the video quality isn't as good as last year. Butch said that even with a cheaper technology it would be superior video. I hope he is right.

bobbyr - 2/20/2010 at 09:51 PM

Took the advice in the Moogis forum & got my password finally & logged on.
We watched part of one of the newer shows on there & were VERY disappointed with the video quality. And with the way it was done. I hope all the shows won't be like that!
Wow.

dzobo - 2/21/2010 at 03:22 AM

Open letter to Butch Trucks:

I'm sure that you are well aware that numerous users are having problems getting their passwords reset. It's been over a week since this started and you have yet to offer any updates. You've always provided information about Moogis and its evolution and frequently asked for our help to both ante up and spread the word to others. I am very disappointed that you have not offered your user base any status updates during this crisis. You are certainly aware that quality customer support is the way you not only maintain this base but get the positive momentum that leads to new customers. I don't know what technical battles are going on behind the scenes but with any service the customer should come first. I hope you will act quickly to at least update us as to why we can't get passwords if not finally have the problem resolved satisfactorily for all users.

Butch Trucks - 2/21/2010 at 04:57 PM

My apologies for not responding to this forum sooner. I have been kinda up to my ears. My sincerest apologies to anyone that has been experiencing problems logging onto the new site. As with any new venture, bugs will exist and we have had some of them pop up. As far as we knew most, if not all, of them had been dealt with. We will be doing a live chat tonight at 8:30. I am going onto the site via Skype and we will open up chat to everyone, whether you're a member or not. If you are still having problems logging on please stop by and let's talk about it. Again my apologies. We are now aware of these particular issues and I promise that they will be dealt with as soon as possible.

lolasdeb - 2/21/2010 at 06:02 PM

Thanks for addressing this Butch!

Butch Trucks - 2/21/2010 at 07:53 PM

AS for the quality of the 2009 shows, that is something that we were forced do deal with when we switched companies for this year's show. We are upgrading them now and they are in no way a reflection of what you will be seeing this year from the Palace. Every aspect of what we are doing, including the size of the stream that we will be using, is being upgraded. You will all be getting e-mails with all of the tech data very soon.

sixty8 - 2/21/2010 at 10:00 PM

Thanks for addressing this Butch. My mind is now more at ease and I will be re upping shortly!

Sang - 2/22/2010 at 01:08 AM

Anybody else having trouble getting into chat at Moogis?

Duey - 2/22/2010 at 01:17 PM

Thanks for the Live Chat last nite Butch, that was pretty cool man and it worked very well. Keep up the great work and I'm looking forward to the next Live Chat next week at the Bands rehearsals.

lonomon - 2/22/2010 at 02:06 PM

too bad I still can't get into moogis anymore

the emails have stopped

guess a $150 refund will be the next round to go thru

anyone wanna guess how long that will take?

Just to clarify, Butch said that they would be using better cameras this year (720 vs 1080) but the stream will still not be in HD. Standard TV is about 3.5-4 mbits, HD is
anywhere from 11Mbits to 15Mbits. The Beacon streams last year were 1Mbit and will probably be around 1Mbit this year.

CowboyNeil - 2/22/2010 at 07:16 PM

Chat was fun last nite Butch, thanks, and look forward to rehearsal in Atlanta.

I can log in but the Beacon shows do not load up, is it that way because of the new site ,or is it just me. Can anyone else view last years shows?

Moogis is a cool idea and I look forward to March's show but would love to see some Beacon shows from last year before they are gone

dzobo - 2/22/2010 at 09:13 PM

Just wanted to let everyone know that the Moogis tech support group finally cleared my problem by sending me the required e-mail link for password updating thru their own tech support channel. Their efforts are much appreciated. If anyone else using a Comcast e-mail is having a problem this is the short term solution. The support staff are furiously working with Comcast to resolve why e-mails are not going through. Here's the contact link to get your private fix: info@moogis.com. They'll take care of you!

Butch Trucks - 2/22/2010 at 11:44 PM

We finally got the drives we've been trying to get since we moved servers. The 3/26 show has just been installed from these drives and I just watched it. Finally got the quality back to where it was. We are working as fast as we can to get them all downloaded. Hang in there. We're going to leave them all up till March 11. Been a bummer for me watching some of the shows. I don't like having the quality that bad even if it was the best we could do. Somwhow "better than nothing" just doesn't do it. Sorry folks.

DanB - 2/22/2010 at 11:48 PM

I do hope the shows no longer "drag" during the stream. Due to this I only watched 1-2 shows last year and never went back to view any others. This leaves me unsure as to signing up this year.

lonomon - 2/23/2010 at 01:16 AM

Anyone still having problems logging in to Moogis to reset their passwords.....please send an email to 'info@moogis.com' and Jeremy will take care of you personally. Yes.

I've been sending response after response to: info@moogis.com
writing directly to Jeremy.

I recently opened a gmail account to get around this. No response to that either.
Initially I got help from Jeremy, but that password inexplicably needs to be reset now.

Butch Trucks - 2/24/2010 at 05:47 PM

Still, for a good quality (or, God forbid, superb quality) 720p resolution, 30 frames per second (fps) video conference scene (known as “talking head”) compressed with H.264 you probably need at least 1.5-2 Mbps (that is Megabits per second). This means that an HD endpoint that sends a 720p resolution video stream would require a guaranteed 1.5-2Mbps bandwidth. I must warn you that this is a ballpark number, as it depends very much on numerous factors (such as the quality of the camera or lens, the quality of the encoder, the complexity of the scene itself), so take it with a grain of salt. Nevertheless, the graph below shows the visual quality that the end user can expect with a given bandwidth using H.264 encoder.

From Radvision. We will be webcasting at a minimum of 5megs uplink. Well within these figures. Maybe for an in your face drop dead 1080i wihtout the least trace of imperfection 11-15megs would be needed, but I stand by my statement that we will have HD capabilities this year. Whether or not it will be economically feasable to web cast at this bandwidth is the question. We probably won't this year. It will be better than last year's run. Of that I am certain.

lolasdeb - 2/24/2010 at 05:48 PM

Thanks to Cowboy, Lono, Jeremy, Dave for helping this gal get her Moogis on!!! Have been able to view shows, post in forums, haven't tried the Chat, Sang, but I will since that's where I'll be hanging to watch the UP shows this year!

Tau - 2/26/2010 at 12:50 AM

According to the Comcast representative I have on the phone, somebody reported email from moogis.com as spam and got that email host blacklisted. He further claims that Comcast has sent email to the Moogis admins in an effort to resolve the block and that Comcast has never received a reply.
He then went on to explain that Comcast is NOT currently blocking email from Moogis but that a block seems to be in place "out there in the cloud somewhere". He then provided me with a phone number to call which presumably will get to someone "out there in the cloud". Should any of the Moogis admins be reading this message here is your cloudy phone number: 1-888-565-4329. This infor mation will of coursebe emailed to info@moogis.com immediately following the posting of the present note.

lovelight - 2/26/2010 at 11:58 AM

Since Moogis made the announcement of improvements I have not been able to watch any videos for more than a very few minutes before they stall and they can't be restarted.
Never had a problem with logging on,only had a problem with watching videos AFTER the announcement of improvement. I really want to watch the Beacon shows before they are removed at the end of this month, what can I do?
It took a crazy amount of time for Moogis to answer my e-mails and then I was advised to clear my browsing history,That didn't fix the problem,Can somone please advise me as I am heartbroken I won't be able to watch the Beacon shows,Thanks in advance.

lonomon - 2/26/2010 at 01:18 PM

are you using IE or Firefox?

I use Firefox and had no problems once the show got started.

Watched/listened to 4 shows yesterday.

Other then the video not being as good as it use to, the audio was great.

lovelight - 2/27/2010 at 12:24 AM

I have been using IE.
Tried viewing on Firefox after reading your post and after logging in on Moogis and clickingview archivesI keep getting a page that says "The text will be replaced"
Really wanted to watch the Beacon 2009 shows these last few weeks.

lonomon - 2/28/2010 at 02:45 PM

today may be the last day of '09 Beacon shows

watched 2 yesterday

where's the "view archive" ?

Eaglesgreen - 2/28/2010 at 03:50 PM

I think in Butch's 2/22 posting, he says the shows will be left up until 3/11. Am I right in hearing they are taking them down because of lack of consent from the guests? If so, how about leaving the 3/26 show up - that one was a thing of beauty.

Butch Trucks - 2/28/2010 at 04:25 PM

Hey everybody – I’ve got some news for you. Here are a few things that I need to tell you:

1 – Due to a very minor technical reason, Comcast was blocking all emails coming from Moogis. Comcast has very stringent rules regarding email being sent to its customers and Moogis needed to alter the 'Handshake' between its own (new) mail server and the Comcast mail servers.

Comcast customers who ordered subscriptions, or were previous subscribers had to reset their passwords. They were not receiving their authorization emails through their comcast.net email account. The great news is that this issue has now been solved, and there is no longer any problems with Comcast.

Contrary to some disinformation, Moogis was not blacklisted by Comcast, for any reason. Not for SPAM, Virus, Annoyed Customers, etc., etc. Moogis email was blocked for a technical reason only. And, as I said, this has been solved due to some very diligent work from The Farmer and our Moogis crew. I know that many of you have had great things to say about The Farmer, Jeremy, Yankee Dan (we have a Canada Dan, too) and the others who work every day to make Moogis special.

Special thanks to Layla@Comcast.Net for all the help and allowing us to “experiment” with her Moogis account.

2 - Due to the fact that Moogis has moved to new servers for email and internet, all subscribers/users of Moogis have needed to reset their passwords on the new Moogis system. This was done to protect users’ privacy and security. We have had a few minor issues with some folks’ accounts but 90% of all users have reset their passwords in a matter of minutes and have had absolutely no issues. If by chance you haven’t done this yet, you need to do it in order to view the webcasts and videos on moogis.com. If you encounter any problems

3 – This week’s chat/webcast looks like it will take place on Tuesday night from the ABB rehearsals in Atlanta. We’ll firm that up shortly and let you know for sure. So, stay tuned. We'll have some fun again just like we did last week.

The New York United Palace webcasts are getting close and we’re getting really excited. We know you are, too.

Talk at you soon.

Your Friend,

Butch Trucks

BillyBlastoff - 3/1/2010 at 03:32 AM

Will the webcast be archived? I'll be in Chicago digging Furthur Tuesday night. They don't do Moogis.

Duey - 3/1/2010 at 01:39 PM

I have a 7meg Connection with Bell and my Dual Channel Wireless router is working great. There is NO lag or stopages at all.

Tau - 3/1/2010 at 05:16 PM

It was never my intention to provide bad information, rather, all I was attempting to do was to pass on what I was being told by Comcast. I WILL relate that I never had any confidence in any of the technicians I spoke with there, but I could only re-tell the specifics that I was given, whether or not the "information" was accurate or erroneous. If I have caused more confusion in doing so, it was inadvertent and for any cloudiness of the situation I may have contributed, I apologize.

sixty8 - 3/4/2010 at 09:02 PM

I finally re upped. I signed up under a whole new account and am able to watch shows. However I have not been able to get into the forums. When I try to register a new forum account my old username from my old Moogis account appears on the form and when I change it all I get is a denial asking me if I got an activation e-mail which I didn't. Getting frustrated after two hours and no success.

I'm having similar problems. I upped my web speed recently, before Moogis switched to the new format and had no problems streaming archived shows. Now, with the newer service, I'm getting freezing and audio drops consistently. I"ve tried several shows and I'm getting the same results. Hopefully the kinks will be worked out before the run starts.

jersey_devil - 3/7/2010 at 06:39 PM

Don't have any video problems, but constant audio drop outs.
This is on 10/11/2009. Same computer I watched on last year
with no audio problems at all (just periodic screen freezes)

jersey_devil - 3/7/2010 at 07:37 PM

Spoke too soon. Also getting hang problem. It does not seem to ever
come back, you need to start the whole thing over again. This is a complete
freeze of audio and video not the full screen video only freeze that we had
last year (a problem with the flash player that I've seen from other web
sites as well).

susea - 3/8/2010 at 11:48 AM

I had a subscription last year and renewed it this past fall. I just paid the $90 renewal fee and it said it will take 24 hrs to renew. Has this happened to anyone else? I dont wanna miss the show tonight.

KerryOliver - 3/12/2010 at 02:19 PM

I think we ALL missed the show last night....unless you were in Washington Heights...
I hope they get it fixed soon. Moogis really is great! I miss it!

jersey_devil - 3/12/2010 at 04:18 PM

Hopefully the replay will look better. Not sure but they may have cut the
stream speed back in the second set because the picture (while it did not
freeze as much) did not look as good during the second set.

They are restreaming last night's show on the live webcast link. Some of the moogis guys are on the chat tweaking things. The video looks great, no freezes in 30+ minutes of watching what they are putting up. If it looks like this tonight we will all be happy.

Hey everyone, make sure you have the most recent release of Adobe Flash Player.

Go Here: get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

PC:
Right-click on live stream video
Select "settings"
Enable "hardware acceleration"
Choose the folder with an arrow [at bottom]
Increase bar to far right - "unlimited"
Close

MAC:
Ctrl-click on live stream video
Select "settings"
Enable "hardware acceleration"
Choose the folder with an arrow [at bottom]
Increase bar to far right - "unlimited"
Close

For Everyone:
If you get a solid freeze, just close the window and open it again to re-establish your connection.

I have had the exact same experience and frustration. 2 emails to moogis for have gone unanswered. Is there no phone support?

Help anyone?

The Moogis logo flash thiny on top of every single page on this site is conflicting with the new version of Java. It uses the last version of Java which does not have the updated security changes Java just made in their latest update. So every time I go to another page on this site I get three notifications I have to say no to to be able to continue to read the site. And that is every single time the page refreshes, with each thread, with each forum, every single page. Very annoying.

I can't get in at all today. I was hoping to watch the 1st set of 3/11 that I missed. I get redirected to a page that says the ip address has changed.

espowsong - 11/20/2012 at 09:35 AM

it keeps telling me I have an invalid user account. I renewed in January and have been able to login since. I'm hoping this is just a glitch due to the server migration.
