Hey gang, the local music store with great stock but no brains has a '61 B-3 with Leslie cabinet w/ speaker for $10,000. I didn
't hear it or try to play it as it wasn't set up and ready to go. But I thought that it may be a steal at that price. Mind you, I have no idea what to look for or the value, except when it has come up here , and I have read where they have gone for over a hundred grand. So, just in case anyone is interested, here is their link (I don't think they have it posted yet though):

Can't fit one of those things in the overhead compartment, though. Hard to get on a bus with one.

I posted my Hammond story about a year ago . I bought a '61 A100 ( the B and C3's internal speakered cousin ) for $150 at the local Habitat For Humanity thrift store . It's been the only time in my life that one of those unreal deals you always hear about happened to me . By word of mouth , I found a Leslie 760 to pair it up with for $300 .

The cost of the wiring kit , 8 pin cable , Leslie speed control switch , and organ tech to hook it all up cost me more than double what the A100 and the 760 did .

I had absolutely no idea how to play the big Hammond . I bought it out of sheer admiration for what it did to revolutionize American music . After owning it for over a year , I ran it on Craigslist for giggles . I listed it at $3000.00 , and received 2 email inquiries within hours of posting the ad . The guy who now owns it showed up the next day to try it out , and after playing it for 5 minutes paid me every dime of the 3 grand in C notes .

Another well-kept secret are the M3's a.k.a. Baby B's . They have the same tone generator as the B3 . I've read that Booker T recorded Green Onions with an M3 . I've seen a few around selling from $50.00 to $100.00 .
