Just when I thought that Warren couldn’t get any cooler, he shows up here:

I would love to hear his take on it.

That would be interesting to hear what he would have to say.
I like the songs they picked to play live from the new release.
Blood and Fire is probably my fav from it right now, but more to come I am sure!!!

I would love to hear Govt Mule bust out an old VH tune. Maybe something from Fair Warning like Mean Streets.

Gov't Mule doing a VH tune would be VERY cool....I joked about them doing A Van Halen theme on New Years at the Beacon a year or two ago when there was thread asking for predictions. But Mule doing something from Fair Warning would kick ass. Obviously Warren's style is completely different from Eddie's, but you just know Mule would tear up any VH tune. I wonder if Ross Hogarth is the common connection between VH and Warren?

Warren's style is just far to different for them to cover VH. I can't think of a single song from VH's catalog that Mule would sound good doing. Maybe Happy Trails?

I tend to agree. However, 'Ice Cream Man' was originally a blues cover, so that would work.
After that ...

Given the wide range of covers Warren and the Mule have done over the years, I don't think it's impossible. I wouldn't expect it to sound much like VH but I bet it would be awesome!

"Take Your Whiskey Home" springs to mind as a VH tune just itching to be "Muleized." Think about that idea for a moment and imagine a Mule take on it. Mule in many ways is very similar to Van Halen, in particular both rhythm sections. And toss in some Danny.....oh yeah. I'm telling you, on the surface it totally is exactly what you said, Sixty. And that was my first thought, too. But the more I think about it...........

And this is total fantasy and probably well beyond the realm of possibility, Warren producing the next VH album......Me REALLY would be intrigued about such a thing. Or an EVH project. That would be too cool!

Okay, just a little over the top...I've got a nice buzz and am not in my normal weekday mode. A little more than exuberant. Sorry. Happy Saturday evening all.

Wow, funny you posted that. When I read Pete's comment my first thought was Ice Cream Man. He could do the VH rocking version or the John Brim bluesy original.

Take Your Whiskey Home for sure- Mule would tear that up.

And for joking sake- "Jump" but with Matt singing it and Warren doing the Eddie scissor kick jumps. I think we'd all like to see Warren's vertical leap.

When I joked a few years back about Mule doing a VH theme at a Beacon New Years Eve show, I specifically mentioned Warren doing the EVH scissor kick as well as. That would be something to see. I never guessed Warren to be a VH fan to be honest, but I guess it makes sense as Warren obviously loves Hard Rock music and VH certainly is that.
