The Econo Lodge is clean , has two beds in each room, and is low price! Camped last year, but the two years before it was $60. a night.

Camping again this year. No need to leave the park!
The camping sounds fun, too, MissElf....in fact I think Helen's Hilton sounds devine. Trying to cover all bases here since I'm travelling in and haven't decided on plane or auto.

Remember you can ship some of your camping gear to the PO, if your flying in. I can bring an extra tent too. The last tent we purchased is as big as a motel room.... You don't have to haul all your equipment. All you really need is a tent, air mattress/cot, and a sleeping bag.
Its really unbelievable how Helen organizes her Hilton. Her, Jamgram, ecosense really have it going on....There is no better place to stay.

This will be my first Wanee. I'm hoping my road bro's can make this trip. I will be coming either way. I do have a question on camping. Is there mosquito problems that time of year? I hate freakin bug bites!

Mosquitos? In the swamps of Florida? I think someone said it depends on which way the wind is blowing.

I said that, but if the place is surrounded by swamps........we will have to deal with them. I do not remember them being all that bad.

Hi again,

Don't know if you fine folks recall a ragged couple from Scotland last year but Lynn & I intend to return to Wanee.

We both loved the whole event (music, company & weather) and unless the whole worldwide economy goes bellyup expect us back bold & beautiful (!) next Easter.

See you all then,

Shug & Lynn

I talked to Helen a little about this at RR this year. These ladies definitely have it going on in the camping dept! Thanks, John, for the kind extra tent offer. If I fly in I may decide to cancel the reservations and take somebody up on the offer of a tent. Just want to make sure I'm covered whatever! I'm sort of working on a plan that involves Wanee then a few days at a beach - you know - since I'm making the trip anyway ...

Couldn't get two beds for Government or AAA or old fogey rates - standard rate came out to about $74 per night including taxes.
Jim - this sounds like the AARP rates I just got at Best Western for a 2 bed room (one of the few perks of getting older that I love to take advantage of is the 50+ rate at hotels/motels!!! )

The cabins will be full. Not totally sure but I think they get reserved plenty in advance.

You should call the park (386) 364-1683

Thanks Heinekin.....I know its a longshot....

I just got off the phone with Shelbee from Suwanee Music Park and she told me that the dates for the 2009 Festival are NOT confirmed for Easter weekend. She said she just got this information yesterday and that I should hold off on booking a hotel until the dates are confirmed. She advised to check the Suwanee website every day until the dates are posted.

Not a good idea.
You can always cancel if need be.
Reserving a hotel now would be a wise move

The Suwanee River being right down the road, I never got a leech but if I did I would still go! I love diving in the river around 4 in the afternoon and getting that refreshing river water feel that I love!!!

I agree. You don't pay anything right now to hold a room. I have reservations for both weekends and will cancel the one I don't need. You should see how many reservations I have for the Beacon in March! Just in case and again, no payment to reserve!

I have been telling everyone for this for awhile. The ABB move the festival if they want to. The easter weekend or after. It will be one or the other because of the stage they build. We will know soon enough.

So the Wanee fest will be the weekend of Easter or the weekend before or after? Is that what the word is?
