Can we just eliminate classic rock stations in general ?

These aren't necessarily my favorites, but I always think of the epic ones like Layla, Stairway To Heaven, Freebird, or Light My Fire. Maybe the quintessential rock song is Chuck Berry's Johnnie B. Goode.

Can't Always Get What You Want (and I love the Stones)

Freebird and Stairway are great tunes that got overplayed. After not hearing them for a while, I'll listen start to finish and remember why I listened to them the first 5,000 times.

Can't name just one- My list would be...

Stairway To Heaven
Freebird
Sweet Home Alabama
Anything by the Eagles
And if Journey counts as "classic rock", anything by them too.

'Sweet Home Alabama' never gets old, even if you want it to, and I do. Two older songs that I wish the radio would stop playing are 'Satisfaction' and 'Pretty Woman'.

We have a winner!

Well, I don't know how I managed to dodge this one, but I can say with some certainty that I had never heard this song before today, when I youtube'd it after seeing it listed here.

However, I have apparently heard pieces of it in various contexts . . . that "ain't no doubt about it" hook sounds familiar, and I remember a SNL bit where Chris Farley, dressed in Meatloaf-type garb asked Michael Jordan to "sleep on it" after M.J. announced his retirement (the first time). I also think Meatloaf recently told his son he was going to "go out and buy him a go-phone today" in a manner similar to the final segment of this tune.

Since it's new to me . . . I kinda dig it.

Agree with 95% percent of the ones already mentioned. I'll add..

"Heartache Tonight" by the Eagles.

...the synth clap, the chiches, the god-awful slide part make this one an overplayed torture piece

We were supposed to mention only one song...but anything by Boston or Fleetwood Mac, too.

Well, being a librarian at heart, my first instinct is to say how exactly do you define "classic rock song"?

I've always hated that song by Peter Frampton, too, by the way...

In a Gadda Da Vida, baby.

Although I shouldn't complain. For years I've stolen Bruce Willis' Moonlighting line and said "In a Gadda Da Vida" when I wanted for irritated "God" exclamations.
