Duane isn't playing on that song if that is your reference? It was recorded after he passed away. It was written by Greg Allman. As far as Duane, I'm pretty sure he didn't have a cell phone.

That's just stupid. Duane didn't play on the Melissa, I'm not sure the band had anything to do with it, and it's not like it's the first ABB song to appear in a commercial. I saw Blue Sky - which Duane actually did appear on - in a BP ad a while ago.

You know what's really terrible? The way the band sold out to put Duane's music on an ad right away, just to cash in on his increasing popularity.

FWIW, Duane did play on the version of "Melissa" that's on Bold Records (and who knows how many following reissues). The band was Butch Trucks' "Thirty First of February" IIRC. The album is OK (although Butch doesn't like his drumming much!). Duane's guitar on "Melissa" is gorgeous, IMHO.
