I have been bummed as I could not make it down to Macon last Saturday, I ran a POLL STAR serach for Jimmy Hall and low and behold he popped up for an upcoming show in Norcross, Georgia ( Wet Willie also playing a New Years Eve show in Mobile, Alabama hmmmm). I called the venue and it is a tennis academy that is starting a concert series. She saiid capacity seating was at about 100! I believe the date was for December 10th. Like many I have been bummed about the ABB slight of ATL. but will eagerly cruise down the road for some Jimmy Hall. Who ever had something to do with that booking: KUDOS!

I love Jimmy Hall. Dec. 10th. hmmmm.....I'll put that in my thinking cap.
Jimmy is one of the best soulmen around. His shows are pure fun!
He is the main reason I went to Macon last Sat. night.

Jimmy Hall rocks. If Mick Jagger had been a southerner, he would have been Jimmy Hall.

Or as someone said, Mick Jagger just wishes he could sing like Jimmy Hall.
I'll take Jimmy any day over Mick!

I looked too and could not find it. Maybe Buzzy will tell us if his call revealed it. Otherwise, I'll call this week.

Agree with you 100%.

I've heard people compare Jimmy to Mick. Instead, maybe they should compare Mick to Jimmy. I don't think Mick's vocals are in same league as Jimmy's.

Hey there, friends. Sorry I haven't been able to log in here in a few days, but a little birdie told me there was a question abou this concert here. Thanks, Ruthie

Yes, the RCS Concert series is awesome! We booked Tommy Talton there last week and it was packed! We decided to sell advance tickets for Jimmy Hall on December 10. I will post info as soon as tickets are available. I'm waiting on the tickets to be printed by the owner now.

Next up is Diane Durrett and Donna Hopkins on January 14, and I'm in negotiations with a few acts for for February. I'll do better at checking in

I'll post ticket info for Jimmy Hall & Tony Bowles in the next couple of days.

I'll see y'all there!

Oops... I posted the flyer, but it needs to be revised. The owner of the club wants to do "special" pricing this show. $20 tickets, or $49 dinner/wine/concert ticket. I'll post final details, ticket prices and advance ticket info tomorrow or Wed.

Thanks,

Terry

Thanks Terry! Sounds fantastic. I'm going to buy tickets now. Brock????

I hope to see some of you there. I love Atlanta and Macon, hell, I love Georgia for music.

Anybody know of a concert/show in Atlanta or surrounding area on Dec. 11 or 12 or 9th.
I might as well take advantage of it while I am there!

I tried two different credit cards, a VISA and M/C, and the paypal message said they could not be used. I tried each twice. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I may try later.

There was something weird with paypal but I was able to use the card I had registered there.
Try again or maybe go to paypal first and see what you have registered with them.

Ok, I'm in w/ a $19 reserved ticket. I set up a Paypal acct first and it worked, after it still would not take yet a 3d credit card w/o doing so.

I looked at Variety and Smith's Olde Bar for those dates and there is nothing. The Five Spot has Donna Hopkins on 12-12. Hophead likes her, so that's a good enough recommendation. Limited seating, so arrive early if possible.

Brock, you won't be disappointed in Donna Hopkins. For my money, she's the best lady blues singer out there. Bar none.

Jimmy Hall & Tony Bowles - y'all are in for a treat! JImmy Hall to quote bluedad - 'nuff said - Tony Bowles is one great picker. Saw him several times in the late 90's & early 2000's as the lead player in the reformed amazing Rhythm Aces and he was so much better than duncan cameron it wasn't even funny. His guitar playing brought them back to sound and days when Byrd Burton was playin guitar for the Aces! Tony could play the End Is Not In sight and just channel Byrd's tone and playing -- Good stuff! sadly now only Billy E & Russell Smith remain in the Aces and they seldom tour! Bet Tony and Jimmy will put on a heck of a show

Not only possible Tom, it's a near certainty! With capacity of only 120, I'm sure we won't miss each other this time. I have not seen Jimmy since the GAF NYE shows from the mid 90's.
