No seriously, my girlfriend's brother in law is having us over at Christmas and is deep frying the turkey....and has offered to fry up other stuff for us...in order to just make use of the oil.

He has done this before, I have witnessed it, he knows what he is doing.

He frys up a couple of whole chickens for himself, cools them and throws them in the freezer for later.

I plan to do this too, then I started wondering.....what else?

Has anyone done any other frying like this of anything other than a turkey or a chicken?

I was going to take a couple of cornish hens just for fun, but what else?

Bread you up some of those sour hamburger pickles. Soak them in eggs before you bread them......even some cubes of cheese. Bread them up too. They cook very fast.

I saw a show on The Travel Channel with a restaurant that sells deep fried bacon. It looks delicious - but cholesterol city!

Take a turkey and stuff a chicken inside of it then stuff a cornish game hen inside the chicken.. fry till done awesome mix of flavors,,, you can do the same with wild game pheasants quail etc also big chunks of fish .. only use peanut oil..... and always do it away from the house and where the oil spills have something you can throw away or dogs will eat the dirt and rocks and well it is messy i know from experience... also a extra long propane hose is nice to get the tank away fom the fryer just in case of a flare up... have fun and inject all of your birds the night before frying it is amazing what flavors you can come up with.. have fun..

fat from bacon your body can digest and handle it is margerine and other stuff like that ,that is problematic done in moderation it would be fine to eat fried bacon and the beer makes it a complete food group..

Excellent! BTW - No margarine is allowed in my home. I prefer REAL fat.

I saw that one, too. It's really big in England and Scotland to deep fry Snickers and other candy bars, too.

I just saw an old friend at the store who works for a mexican food company. He told me you can cut up those flour or corn tortillas in to quarters. Deep fry them and they make great chips with picante sauce or Salsa. I have always used those things to wrap up burritos, soft shell tacos etc.

In South Florida, Japanese restaurants deep fry cheesecake and it is fabulous! They use the special light batter, I forget the name.

My friends in Mobile, Alabama call deep fried whole chicken, "murdered chicken"!!!

Margarine and shortening are a whole lot worse for you than butter and bacon.

At catfish restaurants in Alabama and Mississippi, they serve battered and deep fried
dill pickle chips. Amazing. I have them once every five years. My sister makes faces
at me when I do!

I was lazy this year and ordered my Thanksgiving turkey from, "Jive Turkey". It is deep-fried, Southern style, direct
from New York City. And it was a big hit!!!
