Tiger is taking an indefinite leave from the tour to work on his marriage.

I don't know about this. I find that it is sometimes better to get away every once in a while and the golf course would be the perfect way to relax a little.

He is going to have to quit more than golf to get back in the good graces of his wife if he is going to save his marriage, he is going to have put his driver away too.

Tiger to take 'indefinite' leave from golf
Dec. 11, 2009
CBSSports.com wire reports

Tiger Woods is taking an indefinite leave from professional golf to work on saving his family, using the word "infidelity" for the first time in a statement posted on his website.

"After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf," Woods said. "I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person."

The announcement came two weeks after a car accident that set in motion a shocking downfall for the world's No. 1 player, which has included sordid allegations of numerous extramarital affairs. One woman even shared a voicemail she said Woods left her two nights before his Nov. 27 accident.

Woods has not been seen in public since the accident.

"I am deeply aware of the disappointment and hurt that my infidelity has caused to so many people, most of all my wife and children," Woods said. "I want to say again to everyone that I am profoundly sorry and that I ask forgiveness. It may not be possible to repair the damage I've done, but I want to do my best to try."

How long Woods will stay away from golf was unclear.

A year ago, he was out of golf for eight months while recovering from reconstructive knee surgery, and television ratings dropped 50 percent during his absence.

Woods and his wife, Elin, have been married five years and have a 2-year-old daughter and 10-month-old son.

I also figured he'd quit marriage before quitting golf.

Almost like musicians.....usually when a musician is under marital and personal life strain, they continue to make music, and sometimes make the best records of their career (a la Fleetwood Mac)

Anyway, good luck to Tiger and I hope things eventually work out for him.

Golf ain't the blues.....Maybe he can write a few songs during his down time

It's like watching a train wreck....

Troof.... Golf is too much of a mental game to play during this chapter of his life.... Blues on the other hand is only true and organic when you ARE in shambles.

i'm not sure *what's* goin' on, too much ---- but i'd THINK, while golfing for some of us would be "getting away" - for Tiger,

seems like he needs to go hang out with Dickey Betts or the like, get out in nature and kill some large animals (legally) - and eat them - i think it would be very educational.

(just *one* example - of many options)

Peace.

I heard a guy last week who thought this would make him even better on the course.

If he could play at his level while juggling all his girlfriends, hooking up while on the road, all the extra "distractions" in his life, how good would he be without all the nonsense???

That'd be crystal meth Rob. Is something wrong with your shift key? I've noticed your recent posts are kinda stream of concioiusness no caps no punctuation highly aggravating to read ... are you going thru some nu artiste phase ... well knock it off ... Well now ... um ... where were we? Oh yeah Tiger ... When the smoke clears and the money is running slim, I'm sure he'll return to golf with the many blessings of his wife, girlfriends, sponsors, and fans.

I'm biased as hell. I love golf. I love the PGA and I'm Tiger fan. He cheated on his wife. He cheated on her multiple times.

But call me blind, but I don't believe he banged a lot of those girls. They are rusty and prolly smell like feet.

i'll be honest, i was just friggin generalizing - i don't know how ya take meth, man. Sometimes random NASCAR jokes just lead to interesting places - almost always!

uh .. oh, just had the biggest laugh! thank you. Sorry if you're having trouble reading (my writing), Bro.

The "artiste phase" ! LMAO holy ____ man - that *must* be it ...... no ... that's just really funny - 'cause I haven't felt artistic for *sh*t* lately.

*very* funny visualization though - beret and all (i do not own a beret); though, i do have many palettes.

p.s. really sorry i don't have golf-content - don't follow the news much. Go Tiger! Screw the media.

Peace.

My two cents:

1: Who are all these sluts who want to screw around with a married man?
2: Who cares what Tiger Woods does anyhow? It's strictly between him and his wife. It is not news at all.

personally,i could care less what tiger or any other celebrity does in their personal life...the thing that gets me though is the incredible stupidity of a man who i thought would have known better...if you are one of the most famous people in the world sponsoring tons of products and worth up to a billion dollars you HAVE to know that carrying on affairs with numerous woman..some of them porn actresses and or escorts etc....sending text messages, leaving voice mails and now possibly having made sex tapes etc...is gong to come out at some point..if he was john smith working in a 7-11 nobody would care, but tiger woods for crying out loud?there is no point in saying his private life should be his because we all know it doesnt work that way...these people want press attention when it suits them and then attack the press when they dont want it....cant have it both ways otherwise get out of the public eye!

I just want to point out that if you combine the looks of all of those trifling whores they still don't add up to as beautiful as his wife. But that's just me, I love Swedish women.

From Atlas Shrugged:

“A man’s sexual choice is the result and the sum of his fundamental convictions…who a man finds sexually attractive can tell his entire philosophy. Who a man sleeps with can tell his valuation of himself. No matter what corruption he’s taught about the virtue of selflessness, sex is the most profoundly selfish of all acts, an act he cannot perform for any motive but his own enjoyment…It is an act that forces him to stand naked in spirit, as well as in body, and to accept his real ego as standard of value. He will always be attracted to the woman who reflects his deepest vision of himself, the woman whose surrender permits him to experience- or to fake- a sense of self-esteem. The man who is profoundly certain of his own value, will want the highest type of woman he can find, the woman he admires, the strongest, the hardest to conquer- because only the possession of heroine will give him the sense of achievement, not the possession of brainless slut. He does not seek to gain his value, he seeks to express it. There is no conflict between the standards of his mind and the desires of his body. But, the man who is convinced of his own worthlessness will be drawn to a woman he despises- because she will reflect his own self, she will release him from that objective reality in which he is a fraud, she will give him a momentary illusion of his own value and a momentary escape from the moral code that damns him.”

Let's not forget, 'Atlas Shrugged' was written by a woman.

I can tell you a) I have a very high opinion of myself and b) none of that mumbo jumbo went through my mind when I saw the pictures of the girl Tiger has been hooking up with.

I am not a golf fan so who cares. Te truth is simply this; Tiger is a goofy looking guy who would never land the gals he hooked up with if he worked and the 7-11. He has no sex addicton prolbems. He is a guy who likes to get with very very hot women and he has the means to get the job done. Of all the single (or married) guys here how many of you would be doing the same if you were in Tiger's place? Many many more than we all think. It is nothing to be ashamed of.
