Hello,

I'll have the following question:
Usually i want to keep a show intact / the way is was recorded and traded.
but every now and then i have a show with one or 2 songs with a couple of minutes
of barely audible audience sounds or even "completely nothing".
Normally i leave it that way but sometimes i can't fit the recording on a 80 minutes cdr.

Is there a simple and easy to use editingprogram available on the WWW in order to cut / fade away those segments?

Thanks in advance !

What burning software are you using? Nero has a very useful wav editor built in, which can do what you want (as well as much more besides!) - I've used this a number of times in the past for "cleaning-up" shows, with excellent results.

Alternatively, for simple trimming purposes (and for re-cutting track boundaries, where applicable), try cdwave - very simple to use and, because this cuts tracks at proper sector boundaries (the techies will know what I mean), this comes recommended by all.

For shn files, there is shntool - not v.user friendly (I think it's a DOS based program), but a v.powerful tool, apparently. It's really for the advanced user (scares the s*** out of me!)

Sorry - I don't have URL's for the above, but a quick Google search should put you on the right path!

Thanks Paul !!!

The cdwave download did the job!
and indeed it was easy to use, even for impatient PC users like me.
After one blooper (i cut back the song to 5:57 seconds in stead of 5:57 minutes ha-ha)
i figured it out and now my little problem is solved.
I probably will be using it more often because i have some downloads on my HD
which are one large mp3 / wav file and now i have a tool to split those files into separate
songs.

Thanks again for your quick reply !

Roger
