Got my Macon tix in the mail today. Hard to wait for the show.

One nice thing to see is that this is NOT a LiveNation gig. The promoter is Red Mountain Entertainment from here in Birmingham. Red Mountain's main guys are Gary Weinberger and John Ruffino. Gary was partners for years with Tony Ruffino (John's dad) in New Era Productions and built Oak Mountain Amphitheatre (now Verizon Wireless). Clear Channel bought them out and then LiveNation swallowed Clear Channel. Tony retired and John and Gary started up Red Mountain.

Tony Ruffino and Gary Weinberger totally put Birmingham and Tuscaloosa on the map, concert-wise in the '70s and '80s and into the '90s with Oak Mountain Amphitheatre. Music fans here owe them a huge debt of gratitude. Then, Clear Channel and LiveNation totally screwed everything. Hopefully Red Mountain will continue to succeed in the shadow of LiveNation.

Let's hear it for the "little guys".

Wasn't there a Vaughn guy in there at the beginning? As in Ruffino-Vaughn?

Anyway, I'm glad we got Oak Mountain. Can't count the happy times there. I think Ruffino was involved with the big Stones shows at Legion Field too. I wonder if he's doing the Huntsville show too.

Tony Ruffino is an inductee into this year's Alabama Music Hall of Fame. If the link above works, scroll down. He was given the Sam Phillips Innovator Award. That and a dollar'll probably get you a cup of coffee at Waffle House.

Tony Ruffino and Larry Vaughan were partners in Ruffino-Vaughn Productions and produced concerts in New York in the late '60s, early '70s. Ruffino moved with his family to Birmingham in the mid-70s and began producing concerts here under the Ruffino-Vaughan name. Gary Weinberger was a student at the University of Alabama and head of the entertainment committee. Gary and Tony were responsible for the great concerts that were brought to UA at the time - concerts like Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix Experience and most of the other major acts of the time. After graduation, Gary and Tony teamed up as New Era Productions.

Following in his father's footsteps, John Ruffino has been nominated as concert promoter of the year by the Academy of Country Music.

This one is sold out, isn't it? I thought I read that somewhere...

http://www.macon.com/2010/03/14/1058487/allman-brothers-band-show-sells.htm l

Assuming that this story (and my math) is correct, 950 tickets were "reserved for the band
and for the Allman Brothers Band Museum at the Big House".

There was also a presale, so it seems safe to assume the presale tickets are included in the band's "reserve".

The article quoted Big House curator E. J. Devokaitis as saying that "some of the museumís tickets might be available to the general public after the museum takes care of its volunteers" so hopefully some folks that were shut out will still have a chance at tix.

Hope springs eternal.

Hmmmmmmm If they are mailed this Friday, then I have to hope for a Saturday delivery. I leave for Georgia Monday the 12th on a 6 am flight. Soooooo, I saw on here someone posted a phone number for the ticket company/venue etc? Does anyone have it? I emailed them asking them a few questions and have heard nothing.
I have my printout of the receipt. But if the tickets come tuesday, I am sh!t out of luck here. I suppose if someone checks my mailbox they could forward it to me in Macon for Monday the 18th? Dont know what to do here?
Ideally I would like it to be left at Will Call.....

Several months ago I had the same worries concerning Gov't Mule tickets purchased in advance for a Davenport, Iowa show. I emailed the site where I bought the tickets and received confirmation they would be left at will-call.

Just called the Macon Centreplex Box Office and they do not have my name on the list to receive tickets, yet I have my receipt from the presale saying the payment was received and with all my information, including which seat it is etc etc. Anyway they told me to call back and speak to a Manager on thursday....But it's not looking good.

Sounds to me like the problem is on THEIR end, not yours. It would seem that if you've got a receipt for payment that shows the seat number you were sold, that they will have to come up with a ticket for you. I certainly wouldn't give up easily. Just be sure you don't lose that receipt.
