My favorite week of the year. Went down Monday... couldn't breathe for 6 hrs. But still fun.

i live in augusta, and there ain't no better time to be in this town. I used to go to the national quite a bit with my old job during non-tourny time. We even supplied the all of the courtesy cars the year that the club shunned all sponsors. This will be this first year in 7 that I can just relax and enjoy the game.

All that, and I have never been to the course during the masters. Maybe one day!

I went to Par 3 in 2001. It was fun for me because I have two friends who work in the office at ANGC. One met me at one of the back gates and we got the back door tour...through the office, the groundskeeping facilities, the weather shack, the press room, etc. The course is majestic, for sure. But after doing it one time, I'm over it. I prefer watching it from the comfort of my own home, with my own bathroom, and not having to navigate around all the drunks in the crowd.

No Masters for me

The guy who owned the beer wholesaler I worked for use to take us down to the practice rounds every year. The par 3 tournament was always fun. Had some great times down there. I even got a picture of Arnold Palmer backing out of his parking spot when I was sneaking a shortcut through the service area while leaving once. He gave me a big wave and a big smile. Need to dig that one up and get is scanned to share.

On another possible life changer at the time was we almost moved to Augusta back around 1960. My dad and another fellow were buying a textile mill down there. They were in town to sign and seal the deal when the fellow my dad was going in business with died of a heart attack while they were there. Freak thing. That guy was the brains behind the manufacturing part of the business. My dad was the financial brain behind it. So Dad had to back out of the deal. Dad always said during all the Masters tourneys over the years that he would had became a member there. Of course all I thought was being able to go to all the tourneys which always was a big dream......

Hey I would love to see Couples win. The fact that Tiger has been out of competition at this level and comes out shooting 4 under with 2 eagles. The guy is ridiculous.

I love it.

Five months off and he's two strokes back.

Heh heh.

Wow "Tiger will win this" is an incredibly bold prediction. One of the best first rounds I've seen yesterday.....lotta competition out there.

I can't wait for the enormous d*ck shaped blimp to fly overhead...........(this rumor better come to reality too or I'll be very disappointed)

Gotta love Watson age 60, Couples age 50 and Mickleson 40 all up top. Woods whatever in my book. Could care less about anything he does let along who he is sleeping with. Go Freddy ( in deck shoes with no socks no less) Go Tom.

As an Augusta local, I know I said I don't really care about The Masters Golf Tournament, but the truth is...I do think about it. Like today for instance...we had storms pass through last night. We had 0.7" rain in the gauge at work (which is 11 miles from the ANGC, but I'm sure they got measurable precipitation out of the front.) Today, the wind is blowing like hell, the temps are down 10-20 degrees. It changes things for the players. By Sunday, I'll be a fan of the tournament again. Between now and then, anything can happen. The leaderboard changes constantly.

Feels great out there this morning doesn't it Dave? Had the roof open driving from Aiken to Augusta this morning, I drive through the valley so I miss all the Masters traffic leaving Aiken. With it being Masters week in addition to all the schools being on spring break in Aiken, makes for some empty offices, my office this morning has exactly 4 people in it, and I am leaving at lunch.
