On this we can agree, Let's ask Bill Clinton...And If George W. Bush could talk or write, we'd ask him next.

And I will never forget how he cut local funding for local community centers to deal with mental illness, effectively putting 10's of thousands of mentally ill people on the street. Not to mention totally ignoring the HIV out break. But I will admit morale was pretty high nationwide his first 2 years in office, he got a lot of mileage out of that backdoor agreement with Iran to supply them arms if they held onto the hostages until he got innaugurated.

Yeah I miss him, like all Presidents he made his share of mistakes, but he helped turn this nation back on the right track after the 70's.

And I will never forget that part of that deal to have them released was the hostages were to stay in custody until Reagan was sworn in. Anyone who allowed those hostages to remain one day longer as prisoners than they'd already spent to make political hay isn't an honorable person in my book.

It was just to rub Jimmy's nose in it. I don't agree with that but it happened and its done.

That's a tough one for me... I put that act squarely in the category of "Picking and choosing your battles"...

The end result... Americans came home and it was Ron's doing.

Great quotes, great president. An actual leader who understood what he believed in and why, who was like JFK in understanding that the spread of freedom and democracy in the world was a good thing as well as agreed with much of JFK's speech about tax cuts to the Economic Club of New York in 1962 (the last of the worth-a-sh*t liberals), who turned around 22% interest rates, 15% inflation and 10% unemployment and cured the 'malaise' in this country due to the joke that was Jimmah Carter. While the appeasing and moronic left took millions of dollars from the Soviet Union for their Nuclear Freeze movement that locked in the Soviet nuclear advantage in Europe, Reagan worked to free millions from leftist communist tyranny, and I leave the words of Soviet jailed activist Natan Sharansky and Polish Solidarity leader Lech Walesa about his actions and accomplishments to speak for me. Reagan's landslide re-election was spot on right.

Wow. Good try. Iran rubbed Jimmah's weak-a$$ nose in it from jump, and did so because they knew they could. Within a month of Iran taking the hostages and Jimmah proving to be weak, the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan knowing they had a weak U.S. leader on their hands.

Let's see.....the S & L scandal occurred on his watch, costing the taxpayers over $200 million, which at the time was an ungodly amount of money. Seems like peanuts today, though.

There was the Iran/Contra scandal, which resulted in that nutcase Ollie North virtually running our foreign policy - last time I checked he had virtually no qualifications or expertise in that area, not to mention that it was patently illegal.

I also remember 'ol Ronnie testifying UNDER OATH that he didn't recall over 200 times when asked if he had any knowledge of what was going on behind his back. I don't believe for a second that he was ignorant of North's machinations, nor do I believe that George H. W. Bush, who also testified that he was in the dark, and had extensive foreign policy experience while running the CIA, didn't know what was going on either.

Both, along with John Poindexter and many other cronies, literally lied on the stand and got away with it, showing total contempt for the entire process.

I also recall Nancy Reagan arranging "Ronnie's" appointment schedule based on Astrological Charts - never mind whether it coincided with what was best for the US. She literally drove Don Regan, one of the most qualified Presidential Chiefs of Staffs ever, out of Washington. She showed incredible selfishness in demanding that Ronnie's needs were to met before the needs of the nation.

I was a lifetime Republican who voted for him, but have not voted Republican in a Presidential election since. And before you all brand me as flaming liberal, I have only Democratic twice since then. And no, I didn't vote for Gore.

All that said, when he was shot I thought it was a terrible day for America and was glad he made a full recovery.

That turned out real well for the Russkies, didn't it?

You'd think we would have learned from their mistake, i.e. history.

I can think of one glaring exception to this one. It just didn't occur in his lifetime.
