Wow, y'all are busy for a while.

At least you get to spend some time in the Rockies before you have to go to Kneebraska.

See you soon in Colorado. I tried to get a table reserved at the Toad Tavern for the ABB/HTN crew (probably 10 or more), but they wouldn't do it. So, we'll just try to go early. I need to sit because of my dropped foot and I'd like to be right up front to see the boys!
Looks like you are going to see a lot of Colorado in a short time this next month-that's why I offered you road dogs a place to stop! Keep on trucking!

Anybody who has not seen Tinsley and crew should make plans as soon as they are near you. Great blues/rock with a little danceable r&b and a cast of personnable and approachable characters at a bargain price is the real deal.
I have not seen them as the trio yet, but since the 4th player changed about 4-5 times since I first saw them a few years ago ( at the now closed, Lodo Soiled Dove). So the trio is always who I have gone for anyhow.

One down and one to go

Tueday night at Lake Tahoe, the guys brought their A game. Great show with several new tunes from the latest album, with a more hard rockin' feel. Since Tinsley and crew had a day off before a 12 date grind, it was a pleasure to get together for some relaxed face to face time with EO, JB, & TE in beautiful North Lake Tahoe.

We'll be seeing them again this Saturday in Winters, in an old opera house. I'm sure they will rattle the walls.

Hey Steve, get them warmed up for us. Those road dogs are going all over Colorado for 4 days. I'll see them 2-3 times (still trying to get a driver back from Manitou Springs). I wish you and Ayla could join us for a show.

Hey Jack, We left them in good spirits after the show Tuesday night. These guys are just so much fun to hang with, before or after a show. I warned them about you, Dude They are looking forward to hanging with y'all.

I wish we could have made the shows in CO. One of these days, we will have to do a Tinsley show swap. You and Phyl head to Tahoe, Ayla & I head to CO. Hmmmmm

The Trio is rockin' hard, Bro. You're gonna really enjoy them.

Evil One hits low notes for blues rocker Tinsley Ellis
By Tim Parson, Lake Tahoe Action | Tahoe.com

Who: Tinsley Ellis
Where: Crystal Bay Casino Red Room
When: 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 1
Tickets: Free show
When he was described by the Myrtle Beach Sun News as a poor man’s Eric Clapton, Tinsley Ellis laughed and his record label president cringed.
“I guess they don’t know the word ersatz,” said Ellis, whose guitar playing is even more impressive than his vocabulary. “I’ll take it. I was compared to Eric Clapton.”
Ellis’ guitar tone is often similar to Clapton’s sound with Cream as well as Jimi Hendrix and Robin Trower, so it’s no surprise he’s a fan of all three. Ellis recently played on the same bill as Trower. And he and his bass player were impressed.
“We kept getting closer and closer to it until we realized we had our heads in the PA,” Ellis said. “That may be a little ‘Spinal Tap-ish’ but it moved us and it wasn’t extremely loud.”
Ellis’ band member also is a biker and he goes by the name “the Evil One.” He looks intimidating and he plays a mean bass.
The Evil One and Jeff Burch have been the rhythm section both on tour and in studio for Ellis for nearly a decade.
“Evil One is just the right bass player for Tinsley,” said Alligator Records President Bruce Iglayer. “Part of the reason is that he always plays the lowest possible note that he can which gives the most support. He has no desire to take fancy pop-in bass solos. He wants to be the bottom and be the rock. ... He’s a guy who knows what the important notes are so he doesn’t overplay.”
So checking out the ersatz Eric Clapton in the Red Room for free is the obvious choice for Tuesday night entertainment.
“I think (the Myrtle Beach Sun News) hit the nail on the head,” Ellis said. “It would tell people where I was coming from. Any Caucasian blues rocker working from the idiom is going to fall into that category because nobody else has had that kind of success over the years.”
