I've been thinking a lot about Bill lately.

I guess it's been two years now since Bill left us. I miss his smile, his overall demeanor and the way that he made EVERYBODY feel like they mattered. I'm still in the habit of swinging by the HTN booth at shows - just to see if Willie Howard might be there. Just glad I had the opportunity to know him.

Hard to believe it's been two years already. Like Lefty said, "Love and miss you, Bill." I'm a better person for knowing you.

Fine guy, missed by so many. He wore a permanent smile.

A true gem of a human being. During the brief time I knew him, I really got a lot that will last well past today.

RIP Bill.... as with many here it is a time to reflect on his passing...

I was privileged to meet him... I have that memory locked in my heart... to embrace me as a long lost friend among many of fans at the Beacon party in 2006.. was a highlight for me... his smile and warmth will never be forgotten... I hope his family's heartbreak has eased some.. he lives in their hearts forever, as he does with many here...

we miss Bill...

As I've said elsewhere, one of the truly good folks in this messed-up world. I'm so glad he got to live the dream- playing onstage with The Best Damn Band In the Land! If anyone deserved it, Bill Ector did.

Glad to have had the opportunity to meet Bill at JFD in 2007. Being a true Georgia native he thought it was quite amusing that I considered almost 60*F weather suitable for shorts & t shirt. One of those people who when you first met greeted you like an old friend, not a new aquaintance. RIP Bill.

So true, guys!

I, too, miss Bill.

I was fortunate to bunk with Bill that weekend and chat and listen to and play music with him. I hope I never lose that memory.

I've still got a picture of Bill, arms outstretched with THAT smile from Wanee the year he got to play.

I will never forget that moment. I was way off to the left on the grass by my lonesome, dancing. I could feel his joy from all that ways away. I still have a couple of his passes from that weekend. He drove me and Tony Tyler to and from Macon and we played Beatles trivia games all the way. Every one of us knew the answer to every on of the questions.

Bill helped me out when I was my most down and out. We spoke every day. He was my conduit to my brothers and sisters here. I am privileged to say that he was a friend of mine and I will also miss his wit, his wisdom and his unconditional love.
