The amount of tolls I encounter each day has become exhausting. Sometimes I think these tolls exist solely to aggravate me and get under my skin. First it was just a few tolls, then they started multiplying. Now the whole place is overrun by tolls.

I urge everyone out there to join with me in my protest against tolls, but what can we do? Maybe we can all agree to completely ignore the tolls and maybe they'll just go away. Or maybe we can start a petition to have the tolls removed.

Either way, something must be done. If these tolls are allowed to flourish, we might have no choice but to move somewhere else. Down with tolls.

I live in NYC and I can definitely agree that there are enough tolls around here. The biggest problem is, the cost to get thru a toll will NEVER go down, only continue to go up. If a toll costs $0.75 one year, it soon will be $1.75 the next. The Verazzano Bridge is already up to $10 which is an outrage But still, the State and City governments continue to moan & groan that there is no money no matter how many thousands and thousands of cars go thru the tolls each hour.

Luckily the Manhattan & Brooklyn bridges are still free to use but there are always threats to make em toll bridges too.

The solution is to leave the city, but don't come back. Outgoing traffic through the bridges and tunnels to New Jersey is free, you only pay to get into the city. I am not sure how that works on the Verrazano, isn't the toll paid only going into Brooklyn?

That's correct. Before they changed it to one way pay it used to be a fraction of the price. Now it goes up exponentially. For me to drive to Brooklyn to see my dad from the PA turnpike it now costs $35 of tolls.

Should be against the law. Highways are public and tax dollars used. Every driver should have access without tolls.

I actually DROVE in NYC for the first time on a visit two years ago. At one point (driving from Laguardia ) I had paid $10.00 in tolls in less than 2 miles or so. At one point, I could still see the last booth in my rear view mirror (for one toll) as I pulled up to the next booth. It was almost funny!

Did you guys notice that this thread is actually a parody of all the “Down With Trolls” threads? I was just making a joke. The funny part is how 2 other fights broke out in the thread.

This website/forum is in bad shape, possibly terminal. Oh well. They can't take away the friends I have made, so all in all, it has been a good thing.

Yeah, I got it and must concur... When I started using this site it was a pleasure because tolls were low and so it was easy to cruise through. But now now tolls are high and no one likes dealing with a lot of tolls - it can really get the blood pressure up! Tolls make everyone feel frutrated, angry and the negativity quotiant makes you want to take a detour or not even go for a drive!. It is a constant interuption; no flow! Sometimes I wonder if tolls are set up just to get a reaction and that if people stopped paying the tools (oops, Freudian slip) maybe they would just go away....

A real shame that a site that is supposed to promote a great band and bring those who love them and music together is getting ruined by a few who get their kicks by getting a rise out of others. Talk about a conflict of interest.

I agree Brent. The state of Florida is collecting tolls on the turnpike for years.
I doubt they spend that much money fixing the turnpike. We shouldn't have to
pay tolls to use our own roads!
