It's Friday morning, the sun is shining, I've got a nice cup of coffee and I'm checking out HTW. Blue sky kind of day!
Ain't life grand?

I know I'm alive... Because I'm at work, and the afterlife couldn't be this tedious!

If ya go to he!! you might have to work that job 24/7 in scalding heat. That may very well be you're he!!

Anyone remember night Gallery??? They had a episode with an old man in a rocking chair listening to classical music and then a young Hippy (John Austin(Gomez Adams) was put into the room with him. The old man had a smile on his face as he rocked slowly to the classical music. As time wore on the hippy became more and more agitated and then a man entered the room to tell the Hippy he had died and he was in He!!. The Hippy laughed at first and said "Why is that old man so happy" The man told him it was his heaven

I know I'm alive because.....

I can hear Chuck's piano beginning to fade in over Gregg's Hammond B3 solo on "Les Brers in A Minor" from the 9-26-73 show @ Winterland. On that date in 1973, I was glued to the stereo in my Apt. ...BBQ steak and beer(s), two or three friends there with me, my Marrantz 2250B tuned into KSAN for the live broadcast... The sound jumping out of my Verit Loudspeakers...Back in those days, FM radio was just like the internet...It was THE source for what was happening... This broadcast had been advertised for weeks and everyone in the Bay Area wanted to go...couldn't get seats so my first ABB show ever was the very next evening in Oakland...

peeps who remember KSAN!... Love it.

I can clearly recall my introduction to Lynyrd Skynyd.....Living in a home with only one TV as a Teenager, when nothing to my liking was on the tube, I would often retreat to my bedroom, place my Senheiser headphones firmly on my dome Turn on the Marrantz...and surf the FM dial....(KOME in San Jose was cool too)....It was just that KSAN was reaching out with "live" broadcasts, Disc Jox interviewing stars in the studio...Talking to the listener like he gave a Sh*t about the music, there was passion....The good old days of FM radio.... Anyway, Skynyrd. So, I'm listening to KSAN on night when the DJ plays "Simple man"...the song ends and there is dead quiet for at least 15 seconds. Fifteen seconds of dead air...when the DJ re emerges and just says "wow...I'm going to play that again"...so he plays the song again...and again...possibly four times in a row... So here I am (maybe 17?)... kind of high, ..........intently listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd for the very first time......the next day I bought that album....

I know I am alive because I just pinched myself...But that could be some kind of auto-sensory reaction achieved through signals being transmitted from an alternate universe.

I know I'm alive because I have pain in the lower back and both my knees hurt.

I know I'm alive because I listened to a CD I compiled myself of inspirational songs.

People Get Ready - Jimmy Hall
Will The Circle Be Unbroken - Gregg Allman
He Never Lived a Day Without Jesus - Bobby Whitlock
Knocking On Heaven's Door - Bob Dylan
Go Rest High On That Mountain - Vince Gill
Washed By The Water - needtobreathe

I'd have to go with the alternate universe deal.

I know I'm alive because.....

As bad as things have been going lately my niece & nephew are up here for the Summer. Seeing the world through their eyes always makes me feel alive

<edit for spelling, new keyboard, I swear it's not me>

Tired from last night's Candy Land tournament, it's neck and neck, next round coming up soon
