Was Alice listed as a nominee? I remember us all debating and yet again Alice came up.

ABOUT TIME!!!

After that I agree with

Dr. John
Neil Diamond ( I am really stretching there)

But Darlene Love was a backing singer with some limited success. More people would know her from Lethal Weapon movies.

Tom Waits is an acquired taste and unique but there are more deserving individuals and acts.

Just my opinion.

They really should change the name to the Music Hall of Fame. The only person on that list that "rocked" was Alice Cooper.

It is what it is ...... I gave up on the RRHOF years ago. I used to think it was a prestigeous (sp?) honor to bestow on a Musician, or Band, (I was thrilled when the ABB got it) but nowadays, it really doesn't mean anything to me. Everyone always argues about which band should go in, and who shouldn't, I just find it appalling that there are some bands in, and some not...I will give you a example, Booker T & The MG's are in, and deservedly so, and are a staple of the Memphis Rock and Roll sound, but, the Meters, are not, yet are enormously influential in New Orleans' sound...Or that Hubert Sumlin is not inducted, or insert whoever you want who hasn't been included. The point is, its all about whoever Jann Wenner deems fit to be there. Common sense would lead one to think that maybe they would let the fans, you know us, the ones who have bought the albums for years would get to participate in a Vote of some kind? Perhaps they could take note of the Mule, asking their fans their favorites, and the songs they would want to hear, perhaps the RRHOF should do the same? Just sayin..

Jan Wenner will never give up control of the process. He knows all the groups he loathes would get in the first year if he let the public decide. Ian Anderson must have personally offended Jan.

I think besides Darlene Love that they should be in. On Neil Diamond before he made it big wasnt he a sought after songwriter. Just glad Bon Jovi didnt get in

Neil Diamond deserves it as much as any sixties songwriter like Carol King.

I appreciate some of these artists' output but would probably not watch the ceremonies. It strikes me as a rather unremarkable group.

It would be bizarre to watch this team do a jam together though!

Can you imagine a jam of all the super deserving bands that have never been nominated?

IMO it is not a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and shouldn't be called one. It is a music Hall of Fame. Once they started inducting people like Madonna and bands like Run DMC the title of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame went down the tubes. The fact that many of these acts that have been inducted don't even belong in a ROCK &ROLL Hall of Fame while many worthy bands and performers are passed by makes it a complete joke. I have no urge whatsoever to visit that place.

Maybe the vote should be like Baseball; some years no one is elected. That is the only thing that keeps out 270 hitters with 250 homers.

They just don't want to lose the income at RRHOF

In some cases IMO it is questionable even whether under the standards of "music" some of these acts deserve this kind of recognition. The sick thing is that people like Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks will never be recognized.
