Between them, Lefty and Gregg have a full page in today's Gadsden Times. With pictures.
I don't have the skills to post a link, but the article on Lefty is at www.gadsdentimes.com.
It's on the main page, and contains a lot of info on the International Blues Challenge in Memphis Feb. 2-5, where the guys will be competing for national honors.

Saw it this morning- after going to JFD one year and wanting the stories, signed up for the E version of the Gadsden Times and it's in my inbox every day ... Good Luck Lefty and band.

I knew there were people here smarter than me that could probably get this up....thanks, guys.

This photo was taken in the middle of Broad Street, in front of Blackstone Bar and Grill, just out of view on the left. On the right, the place with the bright light and in front of the pickup truck, is the Downtown Tavern. Lefty will be playing there tonight. Within the next couple months, they will have The Donna Hopkins Band, and Col. Bruce and the Quarks, who have played there several times. Along with the Yonrico Scott Band, the Honey Island Swamp Band, the Hypsies, Bonobos Convergence, many others.
Blackstone has hosted numerous JFD afterparties, and the JFD itself last year with the YSB. Highly Kind and the Skydogs play there often, Grayson Capps, Issac Pike. Derek and the members of his band hung out there for a long time after their show here in 2004, as did Robert Randolph the year before.

Sometimes some of us oldsters will sit there and marvel at what has happened in our town
in the last 10 years or so. A musical wasteland for a generation, we can now go downtown and take for granted that great music awaits us. It has been an amazing, breathtaking evolution. Nobody could have imagined. And the road goes on......

Congratulations Lefty!

Wish we saw up up here a little more often these days, but I'm happy to see you representing your new state. That is going to be great exposure!
