I would imagine most would say the 72' Stones tour or the 72' Grateful Dead tour?

What do you think?

The Osmonds, The Jacksons, NKOTB, etc don't count !!! Although they were EPIC

Neither

Led Zeppelin's US '72 tour blew both out of the water.

With June 19th in Seattle as the high water mark

Does "best" overlap with "the one I wish I had seen"? Sort of!

I'm down with that.
Their tape was clearly MUCH better than Paula Abdul's was.
Straight up....

As for best, subjective of course between big, small, or historic, I'd toss these out there:

Although I'd say Darkness and The River tours were better,
Springsteen's Born In The USA was pretty massive.

U2's War tour set them up quite nicely for the next step up.

Neil Young's Rust Never Sleeps tour, 1/2 sweet acoustic sounds and 1/2 high volume corrosive rock, all good.

I guess the same could be said for Wynonna and Naomi Judd.

Seems like they had nearly a dozen farewell tours.........

Have to agree with an earlier post about the "Wings Over America Tour" certainly one of the best ever.

Some of the coolest were the Steve Miller "Big Old Jet Airliner" with great stage props and special effects.

ELO had the space ship that lifted off from the stage and left the band as they began their opening song. Can't remember what tour that was..............

I was at a friend's house yesterday and he played me a DVD of The Who from 1975 that was pretty damn spectacular, I have to say. Great sound and video quality, all four members totally on their A game, and I really love that material. Such a big sound! And LOUD

The 92 and 93 HORDE tours will always hold a special place in my heart. So much great music, and at least for my generation, it really felt like the peak of an era.

Jimi Hendrix Experience Spring '69 Tour is some real top shelf stuff. 5/24/69 San Diego and 4/26/69 LA Forum are just two examples of some incredible, peak level Jimi from that tour.

The 1991 Allman Brothers/Little Feat tour wasn't too shabby. Talk about a 1-2 punch! Both bands were on fire at the show I caught in Atlanta on that tour.

Good topic!
