Great job! I was the same way after my first, couldn't wait to run the next one - I did 3 of them in 2 months!

Keep it up! (now if I could only do the same)

Well I hope everyone had a good week. I got in two runs plus two yogas. I took yesterday off (not by choice; work related issues) but I'll get out today to keep my 3 runs per week average. I'd love to run every day but rest is just as important.

See ya out on the road!

Arms, legs, and abs this morning, followed by 45 min. on the exercise bike. Ankle still isn't 100%, but close enough that I think I'll try running tomorrow.

Morning everyone...

My first fork in the road this week.

Did weights on Monday. Did the stationary bike on Tuesday. 50 minutes, the usual workout.

About 5 minutes in , I noticed a sensation in my right kneecap. Not pain, more like the feeling you would get from a rug burn.

Did weights on Wednsday and did work my legs, but took about 5 pounds off each routine. The burn did not seem to occur or if it did, it was less than what it was Tuesday.

Took the rest of the week off, but I've noticed that I'm still feeling that same sensation in my right knee. It's not as bad as it was while biking but I am feeling it a bit going up and down stairs and even while sitting for extended periods.

I am going in this morning, but will consult w/ one of the trainers first to try to get some insight on what I may have done to my knee.

Have any of you experienced the same thing?

Thanks and keep up the good work...

Haven't ever experienced anything like you're describing, but if it gets better with rest I'd rest it. Asking the trainer is a good idea.

I just turned 60 in February. I used to play squash, tennis and badminton, lift weights, swin, run and bike (triathlon training) and do yoga. Then I tore my rotator cuff a couple of years ago, and got heel spurs. Basically said f*** it, sat around, drank beer and ate chips. Started walking the dog 4-5 miles last fall 3-4 days a week, but gave up because of the winter. Now, having found this chat is proving very inspiring. I need to get working again. The weather is getting nicer, and it's time to clean up the bike, and get out the dog and the walking shoes. Thanks for the inspiration and keep up the good work all you great people.

I have been having intermittent knee pain. Sitting, hiking hilly trails and track running have been making it worse. I have switched to freestyle swimming and treadmill instead of track for what I can best describe as brisk jogging. Knee pain has stopped.

Good luck bro!

I got in 3 morning Wanee runs; about 20 miles total. Not used to running in such flat land, but it is beautiful. My favorite was on Tuesday before the crowd. Put in 53 minutes in a light but steady rain. It was down right spiritual.

Warfy looked great at Wanee. You earned a vacation and a few days off brother!

Nice. I like going out for a run when I'm on vacation or out of town. No pressure to push myself, just sightseeing and exercising. I like your rain run too. I love running in the rain.

Wharfy: what he said. Once you get going again, last week will be an after thought.

Heavy chest, shoulders, back, and abs today, with 45 mins. on the eliptical. Still can't run yet, and it sucks! Thought IO was about ready but had a little setback over the weekend when mowing the lawn. I hate being patient.

I thought I liked to run in the rain until I got caught in an absolute downpour here in NY last week for almost 3 miles. That was not fun.

I am battling a sore back this week so no running for me.

You guys are doing great, keep it up!

Just chiming in with my progress...I am very proud to report that I reached the Weight Watchers goal set for me today weight wise!! I still have 15 pounds to go to reach my personal goal, but will now go into the maintenance program. If I remain within 2 pounds of today's weight for 6 weeks I will become a lifetime member and attend my meetings for free.

Now that my foot is pretty much healed I can start power walking to help shed the last 15 pounds. I hate to admit it, but I've done it without excercising...my bad! lol!

BTW - I've lost a total of 37.5 pounds since last June. It's been a total lifestyle change and I love it!

Thanks to Chuck and Terri for being such inspirations through all of this. If I can do it anyone can! Look out world!
