oh and..

IM BACK

3 mile run this morning ( THAT was rough)
45 minute weight session - Chest, back, arms, shoulders

Then later in the afternoon - a 60 minute walk/ hike through trails in my local park.

Everything hurts right now, but its all good

Now I am mentally preparing myself for what will most likely be a trainwreck weigh in tommorow..

x2, for both of you and everyone else staying with it. Ankle felt much better today after working out, think I'll give it another week before I start running again. Man, it feels so good to take care of the body! At this stage it's use it or lose it.

Just chiming in with my progress...I am very proud to report that I reached the Weight Watchers goal set for me today weight wise!! I still have 15 pounds to go to reach my personal goal, but will now go into the maintenance program. If I remain within 2 pounds of today's weight for 6 weeks I will become a lifetime member and attend my meetings for free.

Now that my foot is pretty much healed I can start power walking to help shed the last 15 pounds. I hate to admit it, but I've done it without excercising...my bad! lol!

BTW - I've lost a total of 37.5 pounds since last June. It's been a total lifestyle change and I love it!

Thanks to Chuck and Terri for being such inspirations through all of this. If I can do it anyone can! Look out world!

Congrats to you Jacquie on the weight loss! Keep up the good work!

I am back on track though
6 am Elliptical and stair climer workout

I will also be signing up for my second 5K next Saturday

You're a braver man than I am ratboy. I refuse to get on the scales after this weekend until sometime next week! I did work out though, and I'm going to try a 3 mile run tomorrow and see how the ankle feels. Today is a rest day.

Go Jacquie Go
You are doing GREAT!

My WI is tommorrow night.. Pretty sure I am headed back in the right direction.

Signed up for my next 5K this Saturday
My bud and I are committed to doing at least 1 per month, working our way to four milers... and maybe, just MAYBE.. A half marathon
Seems pretty far fetched right now, but wott the hell ..

Developed a really bad callous on the ball of my foot after running this past Saturday, seems to be getting better. That sh!t hurt
Looks like I need to shop for a proper running shoe. Pretty tough being I am a size 15 though.
Zappos here I come

Chuck, you should check a place like McCloone's Running Store on Route 35 in Shrewsbury. They can surely get your size and probably give you some good advice as well. Just a thought.

Hello all,
checking in after a short hiatus, but I've been getting a rythym going. Have been running 2 or 3 times a week and hockey sunday mornings. On week 2 of the south beach diet and I'm down 12 lbs in 7 days! My summer league starts Monday so I'll be playing Hockey twice a week and running as well.

Kepp going everyone! Great job Jacquie! Impressive results!

Geez all the way to page 4... Slackers

Ran second 5K yesterday morning. 41.40!
A minute slower then the first, but I believe the first one may not have been an accurate time for some reason. Has this ever happened to anyone?
I am thinking this because I ran the entire race this time non stop.First time I walked the first half mile or so.
Anyway, felt GREAT crossing that line agian!
Signing up for #3 this week

Still having issues with the DVT in my right leg, but I am fighting through it.
Only lost .5 lbs this week, but I think alot of that is due to the swollen leg. Not sweating it too much

How is everyone else doing?
Doug?

I've run many races where the times were kind of funky for sure. Sometimes it's the difference between the main clock and your individual time (when you don't cross the start line for some period of time). I bet you did improve yesterday.

I did a 5K yesterday. My best time on a non-downhill course since high school. Felt great and great way to start the weekend.

Way to go Chuck. Sign up for that third one...hard to stop once you get started.

awesome

course, weather, and a bunch of other things can affect time on any given day.
there's also "gun time" and "net time" - how long did it take to get from where you lined up to the starting line? if the race was timed by chip, then the chip time is an accurate measure of how long it actually took you.

No chip.

And I was about the same distance from the "starting line"

Ya'll rock! Ratboy, I can't tell you how impressed I am with what you are doing. And I'm jealous! I tried to run about 4 days ago, but the ankle just wasn't ready yet. Very frustrating, to say the least. I may try on the treadmill again today, just to see how it feels. Have continued my weight workouts per usual and have used the elliptical and exercise bike for my cardio. Weight is hoovering right around 22o, can't wait to start running again and see if I can get down to 215. Life is good.

It's shaping up to be a nice day today here in So Cal. It's supposed to be 90ish this afternoon which is a little warm but BFD. Looking to run 4ish with a good climb toward the end.

Congrats again Wharfy! Keep leading the charge!

I hope everyone makes the most of their exercise today. At the very least, we're out doing something.

Did a little running and cutting yesterday, ankle is a little sore this am but holding up well. Think I'll give it until Monday before I really start to run again. Today is heavy legs, abs, and arms. Elliptical for cardio.

Remember Duane Allman!

Tried some more running last night after working out, was able to make 2.5 miles in about 30 minutes. Had to walk for some stretches when the ankle started to get tired, but over all was thrilled. No pain and just a littel swelling this am. Worked chest, shoulders, back, and abs today with 45 minutes on the elliptical. Lawn mowing and car washing time!

Happy Monday everyone. The Monday Blues can be tough sometimes but find a way to get your gear on and then do it.

I'm looking to run 4.5 with a hill. No going crazy today. Just a good pace and a good sweat.

Rock On!

On Friday, I did 4 miles (2 seperate 10K pace, 2 mile runs) + 8 on Saturday (60 minutes). Hit the gym/weights Saturday and Sunday for about an hour.

Need to get in more consecutive running days and do more evening recovery work (stretching before bed, ice baths) if I am going to break through to another level for the Peachtree Road Race in 8 weeks.

Evening run planned tonight once the sun drops.

Had to curtail my outdoor running these last two weeks due to allergies. Not the same on the tread mill.

Going to spend an hour on the ice tonight though! Can't wait.
