Thanks ratboy. I'm still down the 20lbs I lost since January, just not down quite as far as I thought! Had to lay out for the last 2 days due to working Texas Ranger games for soccer money. Back at it today.

Well it's looking like a rain run today even though it has stopped right now.

Today will be short and sweet with a long one for Friday.

knee inflammation kept me semi out of it for a few weeks on squats. Feels OK now, battled my way back to 405 again, it is amazing how at your limits 20% can drop instantly. So will try 430 next time and probably 455 soon. Back to 100lb dumbell tricep extension tonight and ready to try 110's next time.... I am pushing it I know for old duffer. I did an exercize I hadn't done in 20 years..... bench dips with plates on my legs. Did (3) 45ers tonight and next time try 4. You need a buddy to load / unload. They kill! Arnold did them in the his competition days. I lost 10 pounds and am stronger. all gut loss. Some definition in arms coming out. I'll post squat pic in next few weeks.

Kick ass run today! Went to the UCLA spring football practice this morning and then ran The Perimeter run afterwards. I don't have quite the zip I did in college (almost 30 years ago) but I attacked the climbs and eased off on the downhills. The weather was absolutely perfect after a very rainy Friday. Lots of fresh snow in the local mountains.

Kicking it right now surfing the net, enjoying some tunes and a fresh libation. Baked potatoes and salad are in order for dinner. Cheers everyone!

Sweet stratdal. Rainy here today, heading to the gym for a Sunday afternoon workout. Chest, back, and a 3 miler on the treadmill. Then a nap!

It's been a good week. Good swims and good runs. A newbie wanted to run the hill on Wednesday so I went with her to help her pace. She got about a third of the way and had to walk from there. She was bummed (she'd run XC in high school) but is determined to conquer it. Told her we'll try again in a month!

Tomorrow will be the switch-back susie run. It's supposed to be close to 90 too. After that, it's finish up at the office and then meet friends for happy hour. TGIF!

Glad to see foks still at it. Down to 217 now (officially!), and I can tell the difference. I'd really like to eat 4 fried chickens, a coke, a bag of Doritos, and a bag of chocolate chip cookes though!

Also, I am three weeks out on my new No Red Meat diet. I feel pretty good! Lots of fish, more eggs, poultry still, that will be next cut out with exception of organic, local farm chicken occasionaly. A hamburger sounds unappealling now, but a T Bone off the grill still sounds appealing

Changed it up a bit today in the pool. 1 X 500 and then 7 X 100. Worked on my flip turns trying to be more aerodynamic coming off the wall. It's easier on the first and second ones. After that, I just want air!

Another pool day on Thursday and a long run Friday.

You guys rock! I've been slowly upping the distance and speed on my running. Knees got a little sore, but that went away. Steady on the weights with 3 sets of 15, seems to be working well. I'm steady at 217 now, am setting my goal at 202! Wish me luck.

1,000 yards non stop in the pool. I was in no hurry but it felt good to just do it. It had been kind of nagging at me.

A friend of mine at the office swam competitively in college. She used to swim 1,000 yards... just to warm up. No thanks!

A nice, long run tomorrow and then it's chill time tomorrow night!

Taking the day off today... going on my son's field trip to the museum. There will be plenty of walking and running around. Heck... it might be harder than a workout!

Well not one of my best weeks. After two great swims last week, my last two workouts I felt like a rock. I just couldn't get into it but at least I did something.

The weather will be nice today so a good long "Finally-a-Friday" run is in order. Cheers!

Hi Guys, greetings from across the pond - somehow missed noticing this thread before. Started running in November 2011 with a view to doing the local half marathon (Chippenham) on 9th September. Getting great motivation and encouragement from Wharfy via Facebook.

My first run on 6 Nov was for 20min covering 2.64 km at 7.33 min/km.
PB for 5K is 27:46 at 5:33 min/km, but each run my aim is to keep as near to 6:00 min/km as possible.

There's a transatlantic double-header on Sunday 20th May with me doing the Bristol 10K (with 10,999 others) and Chuck doing his half-marathon.

Started running to do the half as a fundraiser for a new church/community hall and can't believe how much I'm enjoying it.

Hard to believe its only 2 weeks away.

Running 10 miles tomorrow morning, then 11 on Saturday. And a few 4 5ers in between.

Been struggling a bit on the scale though, and not handling it very well.

Hope everyone is keeping it up!
