Having som e great workouts this summer, feeling tight and fit. Both kids are taking training and conditioning class at the high school. So glad both of them have learned how to make physical fitness a part of their lives from such a young age. We all need to remeber it's a lifestyle! Keep up the good work folks.

Rocked it today in the pool. 3 X 500 freestyle and then a 50 blast for time. Really focused on my flip turns trying to keep my legs together.

Not sure if any of you ever rowed crew but yesterday, the dean of all rowing coaches, Harry Parker, passed away at the age of 77. He coached at Harvard for over 50 years. No coach past or present has impacted or dominated his sport like Coach Parker. His crews won numerous collegiate championships, international regattas, and olympic medals. I had the pleasure of meeting Coach Parker in 1991 and it's something I'll never forget.

May the water be smooth as glass on those crisp, cool mornings and your bow ball always in front.

Thanks for that sd.

Great workout again this morning, I'm on a roll. Holding steady at 218, can wear shorts I haven't worn in a couple of years, feeling good!

Got the Friday morning swim in. Nothing fancy. Tried some backstroke sets. I like it... easier to breath!

It's supposed to be HOT HOT HOT here in So Cal the next few days. Lots to do at the office today. Hopefully I can get a quick run in at lunch. I don't mind running in the heat as long as I know it's going to be warm. Just keep it short and an easy pace. Drink plenty of water in the morning too.

Decided to beat the heat and hit the road at 5:30 this morning. It was very serene and quiet and I got a decent climb in. Best part is I got it out of the way!

Just finished the yard work. A few more odds and ends and then it's chill time!

That's cool goldie! I tweaked a muscle in my hip area yesterday, kind of sore but I'm going to go for it today anyway. I've been on such a roll I hate to stop now. Legs and arms today, with the elliptical and rowig machines for cardio. Feeling really good at 218, still looking for 205! Keep up the good work folks.

Congrats goldtop! You've earned it!

1800 yards in the pool today: 1 X 500 breast, 1 X 1000 free w/pull buoy, 1 X 300 free. With it being so warm, they cooled the pool water temp a bit. It was nice!

No run day tomorrow. Hopefully another swim.

Went back to my split lifting and up it to 4 sets and added a little weight last week. Last night I did cheest and tris with some cardio. Added a little more weight and it felt good. Still resticted to the machine though. Left side is still noticably weaker. But overall I'm pleased. Been able to tie my shoes and button my shirts since last week...

Two swims in a row today. Did 2 X 50 butterfly. Both under a minute and I still had some gas left. That being said, I wasn't looking for trouble and called it a day when I was done.

Lots of nice "scenery" too... it's hell being a man sometimes! Cheers!

Well the heat is on in So Cal. Easy run yesterday. Knee is still bugging me some plus it was warm. I was in no hurry. Today is off to the pool for a few laps.

Backed off my squats a bit, found myself cheating a little! Dropped down to 200 and doing 3 sets of 12 focusing on form. Everything is good, still on one of the best rolls working out that I can remember. Did chest, back, and abs today, then hit the track. Legs were toast today but I did the whole workout anyway. Love that tired place where muscle memory takes over and you're just doing it, and the sense of accomplishment you feel when it's over and you did it all, even though you didn't feel like it. Keep working my brothers!

Got the swim in. I was in no hurry. One of those blah days. Got my 1200 yards in and called it a day. I'll see how I feel tomorrow; might need a break from the action.
