Down Along The Cove>Shakedown Street

Gotta Love it! I am a HUGE Steely Dan fan so this is a real treat for me. He really fit in so so well and looked like he was having an absolute blast on stage. Many smiles all around, just check out the grins on Oteil, Warren and Derek! This one rips.

Fagen sounds good. He did not sound good when I heard him with the Dan at the Beacon

Big Steely Dan fan here......But that sucked. Big time. Had I been in attendance for that I might have been pissed. Imagine NOT being a fan. Not only did you not get it...but it was 15 minutes subtracted from your favorite bands performance....I don't mind special guests, sometimes they are great!... but why does Warren feel like he has to "Introduce" to all of these artists by letting them play their own material?... I for one would have been much more pleasantly surprised had Fagan come out and shown off his piano chops on an Allman brothers tune, say like "Liz reed"?..The guy is a good piano player, let's hear him step out of his comfort zone and play piano in a "Jam" atmosphere...

If you come out on stage with the Brothers, play with the brothers....It's annoying when the band sets the Guest" up to play their own songs. Just my .02

I think Derek looks good playing Duane's Goltop.

I, too like Steely Dan, but unless I'm mistaken, neither of those tracks are Dan tunes. Down along the Cove came from John Wesley Harding and Shakedown is obvious.....Did the Dan do these songs regularly in recent concerts or something?? It was hard for me to ascertain how good that may have sounded if I were there...but it wasn't mind blowing. It looked like they were having fun though.

I like the Dead and the Dan, I'll agree that Shakedown wasn't mind blowing, but it was great to hear, I was happy to be at the Beacon that night.
