I am glad William F. Buckley is not around to see what has happened to the GOP. Recall that he was behind the purge of the Birchers in the 60's.

Don't run Sarah! I have $25 at risk!

The thing that is more scary is who she is now with that education.

You're right. I'm surprised she doesn't think asking her name is a 'gotcha' question from the 'lamestream' media. I did hear that there are people looking into this bus 'trip' she made recently to see what campaign violations she made. If it was a vacation, she's not allowed to use campaign money and if it was a political tour, she violated a few rules there. That's what finished her off in Alaska. She quit because all the legal trouble she was facing would have bankrupted her family. Since we know she doesn't play by any rules but her own, she may well find herself in more hot water and decided to fade away....at least she would in a perfect world.

It seems her education , on this subject at least, was pretty good.

Read Paul Reveres' account of what happened that night. Pay attention to where he warns the British office of 500 Americans waiting ahead.

"I was about one hundred Rod a head, when I saw two men, in nearly the same situation as those officers were, near Charlestown. I called for the Doctor and Daws to come up; in an Instant I was surrounded by four; they had placed themselves in a Straight Road, that inclined each way; they had taken down a pair of Barrs on the North side of the Road, and two of them were under a tree in the pasture. The Docter being foremost, he came up; and we tryed to git past them; but they being armed with pistols and swords, they forced us in to the pasture; the Docter jumped his Horse over a low Stone wall, and got to Concord. I observed a Wood at a Small distance, and made for that. When I got there, out Started Six officers, on Horse back, and orderd me to dismount; one of them, who appeared to have the command, examined me, where I came from, and what my Name Was? I told him. He asked me if I was an express? I answered in the afirmative. He demanded what time I left Boston? I told him; and aded, that their troops had catched aground in passing the River, and that There would be five hundred Americans there in a short time, for I had alarmed the Country all the way up. Much-ridiculed former governor altered history -- but isn't entirely wrong

Sarah Palin's much-ridiculed story of Paul Revere isn't entirely wrong, but it's badly twisted. Revere didn't ring bells or fire shots, and he was riding to warn two fellow rebels that the British were coming to arrest them -- not to warn the British "that they weren't going to be taking away our arms."
That's what the former Alaska governor said in an offhand remark caught by a TV camera at a June 2 stop in Boston:

[Revere] warned the British that they weren't going to be taking away our arms, by ringing those bells and making sure as he was riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be secure and we were going to be free."

No attempt to make us believe Palin knew what she was talking about is going to work. It's obvious the guide told the story as part of the tour and the air head was only half paying attention....and that's giving her a major benefit of the doubt...otherwise I'd have to say the twit has no ability to understand anything someone tells her.

She mentioned nothing of him warning his own peeps which was the main part of his ride. But the worst part is that she wasn't even asked about Paul Revere. She was asked what she was learning from her tour and could have answered it many different ways. Then she once again labeled that simple question a lame stream media gotcha question. Could you ever imagine this woman when the press started hitting her with real tough questions. Those right wing talking points ain't gonna cut it forever. Sooner or later she has to answer some detailed questions about the issues without labeling every question as being a gotcha question.

OMG you'll believe anyone or anything that makes Palin out to be less of a moran than she really is won't you! Spin it how you want but you might want to read the article that quotes Revere's own words. Of course why believe Revere.....he didn't know what he was doing but Palin does. Geeze.

You and whoever wrote that trying to say Obama doesn't get ridiculed???? I have never seen anyone ridiculed as much in my life from even before he was elected. Difference is he is a smart man who rarely puts his foot in his mouth and she is a governor quitting moron who constantly puts her foot in her mouth and can't answer the easiest of questions in any detail without turning it into one of her canned talking points. Why you or anyone else feel the need to defend her is beyond me but hey whatever. I hope so much that she becomes the Republican nominee. She better start brushing up on the gotcha questions.

I have. And I have also seen politicians challenged on the claims they continually make, as well they should be. Obama is a phony and a chronic liar who goes largely unchallenged.

And some who are defending Palin seem to can't get past thinking she's 'hot' and believing that's good enough. As I said before....those who try to defend her ignorance are displaying their own.

And your point? No matter how you try to spin it, Palin is not a public official. She holds no official position in politics.

On the other hand, what about this deranged idiot...

Betcha that 'deranged idiot' knows a heck of a lot more than the twit you're so ready to defend. At least she hasn't quit her day job.

Yeah poor Obama, heís just misunderstood. While he has been ridiculed to some degree it has not been close to the level that Ms. Palin and W have received. Iím not arguing whether or not they deserve it, just saying the amount far exceeds that of Obama.

Who knows, and I could care less. I'm not even debating that. Pelosi (elected official)can make a tremendously dumb statement about natural gas replacing fossil fuels and nobody bats an eye, not even Brokaw. No 24/7 media story as if Palin (unelected citizen) had said it?

You don't think at some point the scrutiny is pointed in the wrong direction? C'mon now.

Palin is a media whore and throws herself out there in public. She gets what she deserves in the way of criticism. Oh, and by the way.....anyone else wondering where her youngest son is? Great mother.

Really, because I haven't heard of Palin or W or anyone else called unamerican or a secret Muslim despite all evidence to the contrary. I haven't heard either of the Bushes or Clinton called out for not leading an Easter prayer. I sure hear a lot of people with short memory saying that Obama is ruining the country with deficit spending when the Bushes and Reagan both ran up massive deficits. I sure a lot about the need to cut Medicare now as if this is somehow Obama's fault when Bush and the GOP congress expanded it without any complaints from the right. Yeah, I feel sorry for Palin and W for not getting the free pass that Obama got. Get real.
