Recently saw this band on tv and liked them ALOT.They were tight, soulful and funky.

On some level,I kinda feel that their sound is the style of music and sound that TTB has attempted to ge,albeit they pull it off way more effectively than TTB.As far as TTB,I've tried to like them and have gone back and forth on them till I was listening to their recent shows and finally have given up on them as much as I love Derek.

But,when I heard Saadiq and his band I was blown away at how well they do what TTB cannot seem to pull off.

Anyone else familiar with Saadiq's music?

Ah, you were watching Dancing with the stars, weren't you? Seriously, I am familiar with Raphael Saadiq's music. He's very talented. I wasn't home Tues. night, but I watched the youtube video of his performance doing Soul Man. He was great.

I was a big fan of Tony! Toni! Tone!. That was a musical group comprised of Raphael, his brother, and his cousin. Their House of Music album is one of my favorite albums of the 1990s. To be honest, I haven't paid real close attention to his solo career. But as I said, he's a really talented guy and a class act.

Hey Effie, check out the music videos 100 Yard Dash and Staying In Love by Raphael. Not only are they great old school soul music, but 2 of the best produced music videos I have ever seen. 100 Yard Dash is one of the best soul songs I have ever heard, I put it up there with Otis and Al Green for my ears. Check it out.
