Besides DB, another prominent member of the ABB did not receive the Lifetime Grammy award. DB was awarded the Grammy and will receive it later but this other living member of the band was outright snubbed. Where the F was Zakk Wylde? |

Where the hell was Mike Lawler anyway? He's the Leonardo Da Vinci of the Keytar and not a single mention? The shame, the horror. ____________________

How can you say they screwed Gregg? Low country Blues is not a great album... there is not a singularly great performance on it either... I thought he might win based on sentimental reasons or for the longest time the music industry has been enamored with the whole T-bone burnett thing... if you really compare it to man in motion or revelator it is quite sterile. ____________________ now when your luck runs out, that's when your fair weather friends will run out too... Lamar Williams should have been mentioned. I'm surprised Chuck or Jaimoe who both spoke really well didn't give Lamar a mention. Allen's contribution to the reunion were extensive but Lamar's contribution after Berry's death seem more significant considering his involvement with Brothers and Sisters. |

Imagine if they ever give Carlos Santana this award. If he thanked everyone in his band's family tree the speech would go on for three days. ____________________ "Live every week like it's Shark Week." - Tracy Jordan |

David Grissom filled in real nicely for Zakk, er I mean Dickey, for several shows after that -- all those musicians -- David Grissom, Jack Pearson -- Mike Lawler, Johnny Neel, the Tolers, Jimmy Herring, & on & on -- what about that show Jimmy played on the fly up here in Stowe Vt that summer (93), the night after Dickey's Syracuse thing...

Santana's band intros are always entertaining, with each member playing a brief solo... that would take up the entire show, but would be very entertaining! ____________________

They certainly didn't screw anyone, all 5 nominated albums are quality, but taste is taste. I prefer Gregg's album to Revelator (which I like a lot, but not as much as dTb) and much more than Man in Motion which doesn't hit me at all. And even though you can't really argue with taste, how can you say an album with Gregg singing and Dr John playing piano has no 'great performances'? People may not like the T-Bone production, and it might be almost all cover tunes, but it is definitely great performances.
Either way, I prefer Jaimoe's Renaissance Man to the three nominated albums anyways. ____________________ http://www.porkchopbob.com/ | http://www.brettbob.com/ |

How Lamar escaped being remembered at that ceremony is beyond belief, He stepped into Berry's shoes back in '72...c'mon man. Imho, the rest are "extended family"...great contributors all, no doubt...But omitting Lamar Williams? ____________________ "Political correctness is fascism pretending to be manners."
