good question--this is total speculation and there are some comments about this on other threads but one scenario is that this show is part of "series B" offered by one of the promoters each summer--as far as I know series B has not been announced yet. the idea is that series ticket holders have first option to buy several shows at one time, so tickets for one single show are not available until a later date. whether that is the case here or not, I don't know, but if that's it, it's certainly a disadvantage for anybody expecting to buy tickets to one chastain show only. the abb could be announced as a "non-series show," that happens too. it could be that a separate promoter from the two main ones ( the atlanta symphony orchestra and peter conlon) could be promoting the show and just hasn't put tickets on sale yet. hard to say...too bad they didn't book the fox, which has just switched to ticket alternative (I think). somebody should have asked gregory about that while he was signing their book, maybe. keep scrowling.

Chastain Series and mini-series B tix go on sale Sunday (schedule will be up soon). This is likely where ABB will fall. Keeping my eye on when general sale is, probably a bit over a week after the series sale.

Edit-ABB is listed now-no tables show, as is 8-26 BB King/TTB. Now we're getting somewhere!

Should have been more clear, the TTB show does have tables, but ABB does not.

Appreciate the info Brock. From what I read you can buy tickets to 2 shows in series B in order to fulfill the obligation to purchase "Series" tickets. So obviously you can get your Brothers and TTB tix and be good to go. Last time the Brothers played Chastain I got good and great seats for the respective nights by purchasing the Series they were playing within. That said I know others who waited for the public on sale and some of them got better seat for one of the nights. Anyone have some thoughts on what the better approach is, buying Series tickets or waiting for the public sale?

I have bought miniseries twice, and never got great seats. Seems like they were always around Orch K or worse. It is sight-unseen, as you know, and it takes 2-3 weeks to get the tix.

I did great on one MT presale for the ABB last time there; got Pit row 3. That's the way I'm leaning.

Thanks Brock. I wonder if we will hear of any Music Today pre sale prior to having to pull the trigger on Series tix. Sure would be some helpful info.

I feel good about getting good tix through a MT pre sale, not so great about a ticketmaster public on sale. Recent experience is no tickets show up for 30 minutes as the scalpers are given seemingly private access to them, once they are done we get our shot. So if there is no MT pre-sale (in which it does seem the ABB hold good seats for some of their fans) that means the demands starts with the Chastain Series Holders, then the mini series purchasers, then the scalpers, and then you are up. Don't really like the odds of getting good seats that way.

Of course, that said, it is a Wednesday evening show and the Brothers haven't played in Atlanta in 4 years. Hell the causal fan might not even know they are touring at this point. Plus they never seem to do that great job of advertising here anymore. I'm interested/concerned to see how many folks are there for the show. Obviously I hope they draw well, but it is not like the "annual" event it use to be. They have lost out on that draw. A Wednesday show also cuts back on the folks that are coming from more "rural" areas ability to attend...I know they mostly draw a decent amount of those folks in.

Last time, the miniseries went on sale before the MT sale, so you gotta ask yourself if you feel lucky!

The general sale is always awful for Chastain-seems like it's programmed to give out Orch O at best, but those are generally table shows, so this might be a tad better.

Still plenty of time for a presale. Don't psyche yourself out on this; the biggest hurdle has already been overcome, and that is that a show has been scheduled! I am ignoring the Sun sale.

I may not have read down far enough before, but the Chastain FAQs say individual tix go on sale 6-16 through Live Nation. I will be monitoring my email earlier that week, if you know what I'm saying!

Not sure where all the frustration is coming from. I for one appreciate not tying up my money for an extended period before the show.

I couldn't see the prices for the event, you know what they are through Live Nation?

I picked up 2 tickets through the mini series on Sunday. "Orchestra" tix are $99, all fees, included, through the Chastain site. Thought that was reasonable given ticket prices in general these days.

BB King and TTB are $69 for orchestra seats as well.

I was not complaining, just anticipating the usual. LN shows:

US $45.00 - US $95.00
US $45.00 Ticket + US $17.35 Fees =
US $62.35
US $95.00 Ticket + US $21.30 Fees =
US $116.30

Interesting tidbit I learned when discussing w/ a full subscriber is that ABB tix are $10 more for boxes 1 and 2 and pit (she sent me the LN email to prove it). I bought her Box 1 seats for $109.50 each. The pit can get a little claustrophobic for me, and given the presale uncertainty, I took these sure things. She sold me the same ones for TTB.

Interesting I guess I won't be in the pit or boxes 1 or 2, because that price level was not an option for the mini series sale. I'd imagine all those seats could be filled by full series subscribers if they wanted them.

I notice live nation has a citi card presale, just happens I just got approved for one of those when I responded to the 5000th junk mail letter I got from them! doubt I will take advantage of that but I might check it out just to see how sales are going.

another same-day option is the scalpers at the corner of roswell road, you are on your own with them but take a lot of small unmarked bills so you can negotiate--having an idea of the seating chart & knowing how well the show sold is helpful if you are going to try this--also if you are sensitive to severe weather, you never know when you are going to get drenched at chastain!
driving around looking for amateurs selling extra seats also works sometimes, if you want to take on those risks...good luck.

I'm thinking now would be a good time to check to make sure you are signed up for the newsletters....

The LN presale code is "amplify."

Even though I have a Citi card, I do not think it is necessary to actually purchase w/ it. So, if someone shares the 1st 6 digits of their acct #, you should be able to buy in that presale. Send me a PM if you want mine.

Feeling generous today as I'm already hooked up!

Yup. But the damn thing is in the middle of the week. I might get a wild hair and go down and score a ticket when I get there. I'm thinking that I may do that for Atl or Charlotte.

Missing them entirely would be sacrilege.
