LA Blues game was ferocious. The hits we're awesome, end to end hockey.

Those guys were taking it to each other. Great game to watch. They are going to need to reinforce the boards.

Can't wait for tonight, Isles/Pens. Would love to see my beloved long suffering Isles bring it to the Pens. I even turned my son into an Islander fan!! Poor kid. Knocked his teeth out for the occasssion too. ;-)

I like the Rangers in this series as much of a pessimist as I normally am. As long as Callahan stays healthy the Rangers have more depth up front and should be able to contain Ovechkin. The Rangers have also been a hot team over the last several weeks and have actually started scoring goals. If only the damned power play didn't suck I would feel good about our cup chances.

A bunch of great games tonight. LEAFS BABY!!!!

Leafs only stand a chance if Phil Kessel doesn't dissapear into a turtle shell like he usually does against his former team. He was on a pace to score 40 goals and 100 or so points if this had been a full season, but can't ever seem to do anything against Boston.

the first two rounds of the stanley cup are the best so many great games. not like NBA where many first round matchups are mismatches. The hockey playoff teams are usually all very competitive. Should be some great hockey coming up.

It's nice to see all original 6 teams make the playoffs. Also happy the Leafs and Bruins are on CNBC tonight as I haven't upgraded my dish package yet for NBC Sportschannel.

Good start for the Bruins, despite giving up an early goal they ended up putting together a strong overall effort. Kessel was a non-factor yet again.

A three sport winning night for Boston (two at the expense of Toronto...sorry leafsfan)!

Watched Ottawa game last night. They might be the worst power play team I've ever seen, can't even clear their own zone.

well the Rangers will not last long if they play like they did last night. Lundquest played a sloppy 2nd period and Caps took advantage. I couldnt believe Rick Nash has been in the league 10 years and this is his 2nd playoffs. His playoff record is now 0-5 as he was swept in his first playoff and now dropped the first game of this series.

BTW, did anyone else watch the Ranger/Caps game. I am not an expert but how was that hidden puck trick not ruled a goal? Where else could the puck have possible been but in the net. LOL

Loving this time of year!!!! great games last night, more to come tonight with Sens Habs rematch.

2 game suspension for Eller hit is a joke. NHL looking for American acceptance.

Couldn't believe Wings blew lead. I had turned it off with 10 to go as I figured all was done. Came back to TSN and the game was going into OT.

Winning goal on Quick was classic. If you have played soccer, hockey or any game that involves shotting into a net I think you would all agree Quick thought pass was going to Blues player on far side of rink not to Backes coming in late. It fooled me, fooled the guys on TV. Great series.

its the most magical time of the year!!!!

They make up for it with one of the best penalty kills in the league. The power play is where they have really missed Speeza all season. But they have defied the odds all season and seem to find a way to win. Lots of great young talent that will only improve. they will be a good team for quite a few seasons.

That series is officially very intense after last night's game.

I assume that you think it was a clean hit. I do. Shouldn't even have been a penalty. He definitely rocks Eller's world but he is going for body and not the head. When Eller's face hits the ice, his visor cuts him bad and the ice breaks the bones/dental. All that blood is what got him the penalty and suspension.

Anderson was amazing in nets for the Sens.

Gosh one of the papers I read said it was the first time since 1996 -- will doublecheck
a great time of year indeed & let's go Bruins -- arriving in Toronto with a 2-0 lead is paramount -- nothing can be taken for granted against this Leafs team

Lundqvist deserves 1st star even though they lost. This will be a short series if they don't get that piece of crap PP going. 5 mins. into OT they looked completely out of gas. WTF???

Great great hockey weekend. After a 9 year playoff drought for the leafs I forgot how amped I get watching the leafs. I was bezerko Saturday night.

Yesterday I changed things up by wearing a leafs jersey my folks gave me back in 93 or 94. Number 27 with GOLEAFSGO across the back. Jersey is many sizes to small.

Also pulled out an ancient leafs pillowcase and threw that one on the bed. LOL

I have to go to Van tomorrow so I will be messing with the mojo, hopefully it doesn't hurt the team.

All good, GO LEAFS GO!!!!

Took my 6 year old son to the Isles/Pens game 3 yesterday. I have been a die hard Isles fan for far too long, and yesterday was bittersweet. The outcome was not the desired one, but it was great hearing that place rocking, and the Isles now know they belong on the same ice as the Pens. I don't think I have been to a hockey game that loud in decades. There is something about that old dump when its packed with 16,000+ that makes it so friggin' loud.

The Pens don't want to play the Isles 5 on 5. Isles dominate them even strength. We need to stay out of the box.

This video is a pretty good representation of the bedlam that was the Coliseum yesterday.

Neil being afraid of Prust is a joke. He has fought him and won on a few occasions. The fights all started because Montreal believed their own hype about being able to push Ottawa around. Montreal are a smaller team so not sure how they decided on that game plan.

The Habs have been trying to get Neil to drop the gloves to pick up a penalty. Hate that fakr drop the gloves move. Neil isn't buying as it happened a couple of times this season and one was Prust. Every team in the NHL would sign Neil in a second. One of the top hitters in the league, strong as an ox, goes hard every game, light heavyweight that has fought bigger guys his whole career and taken down many. The only guy to take on Chara twice and win both. This guy is no pussy.

Montreal was playing cheap with some elbows and hits far more deserving of suspensions than Gryba's hit on Eller. The wider the score, the more Montreal played that way and then Therrien sends out his 4th line to send a signal and McLean matched him and 4 Habs got beat up. The 5th would have got killed but Kassian just sat on him.
