Was hoping Russia would beat the Fins so Tuukka could rest up for the Cup run.

Too bad USA vs. Canada is not the gold medal game for the men. However it is the gold medal matchup for the women...the US and Canada women's teams do not like each other at all so maybe they'll drop the gloves.

What a win for CDN ladies. Incredible comeback for the win!!!

Nuts that puck hit the post with a minute to go and the net empty after linesman got in the way of Cdn defender.

Can't figure out why Ref for such an important game was from Britain. Jes louise hope we get a ref from greenland on Friday.

HUGE comeback , I was listening to the game in my truck between welds , got to listen to the entire third period , almost turned it off with four minutes left , it sounded like one of the most exciting games ever on the radio , I was flipping out , good luck tomorrow .
Go Canada !!!!!:

Another reason to root for our USA tomorrow, so Bergy can rest up before the season kicks off again

Tuukka in net against USA...

This could be a problem if he plays the way they did against Russia.

When Patrick Kane hit the post with that penalty shot is was over. The US team appeared to pretty much give up after that. Very disappointed. I believe the Fins are the 2nd best team in the tournament. Selanne was a monster for them. At the beginning of the tournament I thought the Swedes had the best team and still do. But the Canadians always seem to have a knack for snatching the gold medal. Tomorrow AM we shall see.

Canada!!! Back to back Gold.

Not sure how anyone can look at these lineups ans see Sweden as a better team. Look at the teams line by line. Canada's 4th line would be most teams 1st line.

Then look at the defence. Last year's Norris trophy winner (PK Subban) didn't even dress for Canada. No team's defence comes close to matching and add to that how well Price played. Only 3 goals against in all the games. Incredible.

felt bad for Quick and don't blame him for calling out his US team for deserting him. I know there is disappointment when not making the Gold game and it has happened to plenty of teams over the years but when you look back Bronze is much better than nothing.

Two best teams for me were Canada and the US. Some other countries are improving but their strategy was to have all 5 players in the crease with the goalie. Hard to score playing against that but they also are not actively trying hard to score either. makes for some boring games.

They must have started a new tradition of the loser handing the winner the Stanley Cup and he is giving it over to Toews and The Black Hawks!

wow disappointing games. Not sure what happened to the US. Maybe it was a canadian team that was way too good. Amazing show by Canada. I think they could have won without a goalie, their defense was that good!!!!

Pretty sick about Backstrom getting canned at the last minute for Sweden. After losing Zetterberg and Sedin not making the trip.

Glad we get back to the real games now. It has been a great season tip the interruption. Hope the Olympics revert back to amateurs again. Or at least non NHL.

Hockey was the best part of the olympics. The time differences which means everyone knows the results ruins it for me at least.

49 of 50 players in the Gold game were NHLers. Would be 50 of 50 if Canada played the US. All the major countries would lose to a team like the Swiss.

I get the amateur thing but I think we are beyond that. Are millionaire snowboarders really amateurs? The hockey is definitely much better with the NHL guys playing and people pay attention more.

I think the jury is still out on whether the NHL will allow its players to go in 2018. IMO, they should as it is better hockey with them in it. It also showcases what an international league the NHL really has become, at least in terms of where the players come from.

Total BS what they did to that Swedish player. ( forgot his name)
The guy had taken allergy meds for years, and he told the IOC he did.
Passed NHL and IOC drug tests and then they nail him right before the gold medal game.
Shady if you ask me.

as far as NHL and the Olympics, if i owner an NHL team and watched my star such as Tavares get ruined for the season in the Olympics, it would piss me off. Hockey is a rough game. I think Ovechkin was intentionally shooting to hurt people.

If you want to make the money that the NHL guys make then sorry take your medals and shove them you know where. Play your nationalistic idiotic games during the summer.

Saturday's game between the Pens and the Hawks at Soldier Field should be interesting. We are supposed to get a boatload of snow here over the weekend.

same thing in this morning's paper
"No McQuaid Update" followed by"There was no update on defenseman Adam McQuaid, who continues to battle a groin/hip injury that has cost him 31 games this season"

Don't like the sound of this one -- silence is not golden in this case
but no McQuaid, no Seidenberg, key players in & out w/injuries

& we're still playing good -- now we gotta score to settle tmrw w/the Cap-pistols -- that game last Sat will have "fluke" written all over it -- you know Tuukka will want to carry the team in this one -- look for a goose egg by 'W'
& in the process, get to w/in a point of Pitts. if Joe T. & the Shahks cooperate...
Yah -- it's the Bruins
