Happy Thanksgiving holidays pucksters (et al), & not where we'd like 2 b at the quatah-pole (of reg. season)

we've been good the past few seasons b/c the players have bought into Julien's system -- D --

so that, "no timetable on Zdeno's return" does not stoke up B's fans w/confidence -- just a good thing it's this early w/all these dings (Krecji, Marchand, Chris Kelly...) -- let's see where we are at final 1/3 of entire campaign (last 4 wks reg. season>playoffs)

Bottom line, nothing has changed -- how well we do depends on Tuukka Rask & how the defensemen hold up until Zdeno gets back -- yes he's 37 but he's never had this extensive an injury & should be able to bounce back in good shape -- he just skated for the first time today according to the Herald, so mayb he's doing good -- he's the team captain & his experience & wingspan are crucial -- get well soon Zdeno

Johnny Boychuk, you are missed --
just as McQuaid was coming back great -- broken thumb, out 6-8 weeks

Last but not least, RIP Pat Quinn -- he & Bobby settled up & were on good terms for a long time -- wasn't cordially greeted in the Gahden for a long time too tho -- career long hockey guy -- tough nut

it was 2-2 last time I looked, Let's-Go-Boston-Broonz

Prayers to Mr. Hockey, Gordie Howe. Just read that according to his son Mark, he has suffered another stroke and is in ICU currently. Doesn't sound good.

Beat me to it gondicar & great photo-- hopefully that great rink in the sky will soon welcome its greatest newcomer -- Gordie is such a rugged toughnut that it might be awhile before he succumbs to these recurring strokes -- it's gotta be difficult
Prayers indeed to Mr. Hockey & family

As a native Detroiter and lifelong Wings fan, this is very sad news. As a boy I was fortunate enough to see him at the end of his career. He epitomized everything that is great about hockey. Glad he played all those years in a Red Wings sweater.

You nailed it Stephen. He has always been so strong that his body doesn't know quit.

Met him once years ago and he was awesome. My buddy did a couple of interviews and Gordie's wife used to rule with an iron fist. Made my buddy nervous. A true legend.

Rest in peace, Msr. Jean Beliveau -- a class act & incomparable player -- no Bruins fan disliked Beliveau -- the one good thing to be taken from the 1971 playoffs when they shocked us in the first round, was that it was his last year, and they went on to win the Cup that year -- which was awesome for Jean -- stunk for B's fans, but there was that slight solace

Msr. Beliveau read a note of heartfelt thanks to B's fans prior to being introduced the night they shut down Boston Gahden in 1995 -- & walked onto the ice to thunderous applause --

the colorful history of hockey always takes a hit when its greats pass on

Let's go B's & shoutout to James et al -- very cool picture of Gordie that alloak41 posted

They're feeling good about themselves tho after beating a good Wash team the other night -- no one likes playing in Phila, & B's lacing 'em up as we speak for another rough&tumble matinee on Broad St.

Rangiz
they're tops right now -- beat perennial reg.-season powerhouse AMD, then followed it up in LA in Cup finals rematch -- it's game du jour tonite against SJ Sharks -- Joe Thornton's ironman streak recently ended at 319 games but is expected back tonite after 4 games out (shoulder) -- a 3-game west coast sweep would talk Gotham loud -- they're showing those southwest teams a winning brand of O-6 pucks -- that hockey is meant for cold weather, it originated in Canada & here is your evidence etc

We've only had 1 good game the last 3 few weeks, against Det. Dec. 29 -- good all around effort Fri nite too but Devils not the Red Wings -- Zdeno coming into form but a slower-than-expected process blah blah

Tuukka will have a good game this afternoon -- he's stoked having seen Svedberg post a shutout the previous game --
the forwards have to start concentrating more on forechecking, making things happen in front of the net etc. -- we've been way down offensively this season & have to shift to a more offensive mindset -- take some chances, the D has their back -- these 2-1 & 3-2 OT/SO results don't make it

A win in Phila means we're going good going into our 2 key home games next week, Tues. TBay, & a Thursday 7 p.m. visit from Rangiz -- they have 4 games in hand on us right now

We Tie Rangiz In Standings W/Win Today -- Catching Red Wings Is Paramount -- LET'S GO BROONZ

Deep, down, it might have dawned on Mar-tan as he watched the Dominator's # being retired recently -- "that's where I belong too" ie, that era...he too will have his # retired in NJ after his great career

Traction hard to come by -- we overtake NYR in pts. column w/win tonite -- still would trail em in the overall tho (winning %)

we're trying to catch Det. & Mont. -- Red Wings pull into tie w/Mar-tan-less St.L w/win tonite (Nice matchup)

meanwhile it was all 'merci beaucoups' in Columbus last night as the Buckeyes gift-wrapped en bleau, blanc et rouge, a 3-2 win to Habs -- Det. would pull into tie w/Mont. as well as St.L

Resurgent NYI shut out Rangiz the other night, doubt it can be done 2 nights in a row -- this is a monster local matchup, B's fans are goin', YAA -- let's go Broonz

ChiHawks wailin like always -- what's w/Preds lighting up Nshvl skyline tho -- no matter, ChiHawks soon overtaking -- St.L right there as usual -- ya, pucks -- Det.-Nshvl Sat nite, humdinger matchup, Wings win again

Fans ticketed for throwing Leafs jerseys on ice banned from MLSE properties

Three men ticketed for throwing Leafs jerseys on the ice at last night's game have been banned from all MLSE properties for one year, Toronto police say.

After losing four straight on the road, the Leafs added to that streak with a 4-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday night and fans were quick to express their frustration with the team’s performance.

On three occasions, Leafs jerseys were thrown on to the ice during the game and three men were reportedly thrown out of the ACC.

Toronto police say the three men "trespassed" and were given tickets for engaging in a prohibited activity.

Leafs forward Nazem Kadri addressed the incidents while speaking to reporters last night.
"I don't how that happens, what security or the ushers are doing. It seems like we're giving the guy an extra couple minutes to flip everybody off and to mock our real fans,” Kadri said.

“I don't know how that guy's not taken by his shirt and dragged out of there, but what do I know?"

MLSE spokesperson Jamie Deans confirmed to CP24 that charges had been laid but said MLSE had no further comment on the incident.

I understand being frustrated with your team, but to throw your sweater on the ice? Have you seen the price of an authentic hockey sweater these days?!?!?!?

Methinks the Leafs organ-i-zation should worry more about fixing their hockey team for once.

The allstar break is much needed for the Red Wings. Gives Jimmy Howard more time to heal without missing more games.

More lite will be shed on this tmrw nite -- ? fans filing in from Broad St will be asking is -- did the break come at a bad time' -- after all they'd won 4 in a row for 1st time this season, then boom, 5 days off

More immediate hi-priority NYC biz of our own tonite, as in MSG -- not NYR, not this time -- we've been trading swings last few weeks (Nothing New) & just more of it tonite

yes it's only 1 pt back up on them, yes they still lead overall -- but cutting town w/the W, we'll be in a Good way for NYI & Johnny Boychuck's return to Gahden Sat. nite -- Tuukka vs. Henrik Lundqvist, the two top goalies

also (sorry for the blabbin, I totally don't mean to hog the thread, just looked at standings/schedule ) --
by osmosis the winning attitude/many years' greatness etc., JB brought from Beantown, rubbed off on his NYI teammates -- again, nothing new, ie Seguin, Kessel, Thornton etc --

They've played great this year -- BUT, at the end of the week, it'll be NYI, L5 -- Flyiz'll get em tmrw nite, then Sat nite our place

again my apologies for the runon,

Wings have soared w/out Howard -- so that the age-old sports ? arises -- 'do we stay w/the hot goalie. or put our front line starter back in' when he returns
sometimes that can jar a team's 'chemistry' -- that's what we're hopin -- we're still way behind both Wings & Habs, not to mention hammering heads w/NYR last few weeks & again tonite

I need a TV set for that Nshvl-AMD game tmrw nite -- what is it that makes them wail so good in reg season, esp. AMD -- tied-atop, top-shelf pucks

C'mon B's -- we sent 'em home unhappy last night, same thing tonite -- we got a break, Mont. caught napping in their own rink last night, embarrassed by Buff -- these 2 pts tonite now mean a little more than b4 --

same thing Wings, they were/are hot, then went into 4-5 day break -- that, combined w/their suddenly-unsure goalie situation.....
Let's Go BROOOONZ

**UPDATE, Lundqvist sitting out tonite -- Let's Go B's

This 5 game road trip against these good west. conf clubs, less Edmntn, is good timing & will have to prove to be what dr. ordered for B's -- we lost 4 huge points last week to NYR & Mont., then shown up at our place by Dallas

Habs have won the last 6 games at (TD) Boston Garden -- Tuukka 3-13-1 lifetime against Habs -- now NYR pulling away, Fla. catching up

1-2 good games is all it'll take to get on a roll and back into contention in our div -- Let's go B's
