God does plenty of crazy things during the hockey playoffs. I am a Rangers season ticket holder and they are not playing well at all, particularly at home. No one is putting the puck in the net and with Lundquest and their D they only need to score 2 or 3 goals to win. Unfortuntely they are barely getting one or two.

They have now played 6 playoff games and scored 3 goals once and that was a Nash goal (his only playoff goal) when they were down by 2 and there were 3 seconds remaining in the game.

any takes on what is wrong with Canadians, lightning are definitely in their heads. Habs won 4 straight last year and it is now looking like a Tampa sweep this year. I know they took Montreal 5 straight during season but playoffs are often completely different. very surprising.

Ducks looks like they are going to be 8 and0 after 2 rounds.

I think Wild will cover at home and go back to Chicago tied for a game 5

Rangers -Caps is dead even so far. Lundquest playing great, Ovechkin playing all world. Fun to watch so far and the most compelling series of this round thus far.

Have to agree on that one.

Bishop is looking great for Tbay.

Habs are a mess, any coach that lets Subban play an entire powerplay is out to lunch. Similar to Kessel in Toronto everyone knows what Subban is going to do. Penalty killing is considerably easier when the team with the advantage shots from outside the circles or always works to get the puck to the point.
Markov is lost on offence (good thing I drafted him on my pool team).

Its funny how you look at a team when they are down. Montreal does not have one player in top 25 of scoring. Not one!!! They chip and chase, chip and chase. Team relies so much on Price a good team will ignore everyone else and get on their MVP.

Ottawa beat the crap out of them as well. They look tired.

3 of 4 series are yawners so far.

It is hard to figure -- makes no more sense than why Habs have kicked our butts over last 2 seasons -- don't count out Habs yet tho

Last year Stamkos and Bishop were both hurt , Yzerman deserves a lot of credit bringing in the veterans from New York .

Stralman was the most important pickup for them. I wish we still had him.

stralman was a great pickup by TB. I wondered why Rangers signed Boyle for about same dollars as Stralman commanded. Strahlman was younger and developing into a really solid player. Cannot figure out the move, particularly as Boyle has regressed all year. I think Sather was probably trying to bolster power play but it failed.

Rangers/Caps has been a great series for everyone except us Rangers fans. Have been saying all along that we need 3 goals and with Lundquest you are pretty good. Rangers are having problems even scoring a goal or two. Chances are there, but nobody can finish on this team. They wait so long to shoot that shots are blocked by a recovering defense and they pass ad nauseum until the make a bad pass on the 6th or 7th pass before shooting. The rhythm is lacking and as series goes on, our confidence is dwindling and we cannot seem to rattle Holtby as in prior series.

Obvioulsy game tomorrow is a crucial game for both teams.

Habs are in terrible shape and will need an amazing recovery to win tonite and get back in series. I think Wild will win, not sure about Calgary but i also think they will win their game tonite.

The hawks look great, don't even break a sweat. Wild couldn't find the net all night. Wild need to get some young gun forwards to compliment their defence. Vanek is a bust as per usual.

Should go after Kessel and Khadri. LOL

It was not a trade of Stralman for Boyle. It was a decision to sign either Staal or Stralman long term. Boyle was a short term pickup intended to bolster the pp. Klein was basically the replacement for Stralman. The problem is not the money per year but the years on the contract. No way could the Rangers afford to have three defenseman signed for that money long term with McDonagh coming up on his big payoff along with Stepan and a number of others. The decision to let Stralman go was made independently of Boyle just as the decision not to re-sign Callahan had nothing to do with Martin St. Louis.

I can see the Rangers winning this series , they are not scoring many goals but King Henry is keeping them in the games , Rick Nash is his usual playoff self .

Rangers/Caps series has been one heck of a ride. Now a game 7. All one goal games. Don't know how McDonough returned after Ovechkin hit in 3rd period. The refs have been miserable in the series. Wards has basically been a battering ram hitting Lundquest all series long. Caps have been mugging the Rangers, holding them and the 2 minute penalty for delay of game was atrocious.

Ovechkin has guaranteed a win in game 7 for Washington. Wasn't he the guy who guaranteed a gold medal for Russian in Sotchi?

Will be tough for either team to recover after this brutal series both mentally and physically. Just has been no room for error.

amazing comeback by the Bluehshirts. I still wonder why no one gives any individuals on this team any credit. Lundquist did not even make the all star game -passed over by 6 guys and 2 replacements. Only Nash was in the game. Girardi? McDonough? Stahl?

Kevin Hayes never mentioned in rookie of year conversations. I am not suggesting he win it, but come on, not even a mention.

Anyhow getting to Semifinals now

Rangers over Lightning in 7
Hawks over Ducks in 6

Great game last night, Lunquist was the difference. Great to see Domenic Moore and his line keep the Rangers hopes alive. Moore has been through a lot over the years. His line kept the Rangers rolling while Caps were all over everyone else.

Refs looking the other way on Orpik hit was brutal. If the ref didn't see the elbow I would suggest glasses for the Conference finals.

Same thing goes for obvious too many men call that should have gone against Caps in the second. In any other sport if your team self destructs you pay the price. Refs felt game was better if they put the whistles away. I am not one for calling everything but obvious calls need to be made.

Rangers in 7
Anaheim in 7

Wash in 7 (Ovechkin having too much fun) - 2 pts

Mont in 6 (sorry hamburgler but Carey Price is the best goalie in the league) - 2 pts

Ana in 7 (whiteout will help but Corey Perry is a killer) - 1 pt
Hawks in 6 (Nashville has no one that can score unless Ribero gets back on the powder) - 2 pts
Nucks in 7 (Flames too young and Hiller is average) - ooops
Blues in 7 (even with Alex Steen in hiding Blues pull this out, Doobie willl be mortal once more) - ooops

11 points of 16

Round Deux -

Hawks in 7, their luck should continue - 1 pt
Anahiem in 6, Corey Perry - 1 pt
Montreal in 6, Carey Price - ooops

agree Refs were blind the entire series. Boyle is probably out and McDonough somehow dodged a bullet in game 6. the holding was insane throughout the series and Ward was bulldozing Henrik all series.

That being said, just a great series to watch. The other series were pretty dull IMO considering it was Quarterfinals. Semifinals should be 2 great match ups. Hope Callahan and Boyle can both play for their respective teams.

Someone please wake up Nash and St Louis!!!!!

Calgary over Van in 6

Ottawa over Montreal in 5 (Ronald can't save MTL from the Hamburglar-Robble Robble)
Tampa over Detroit in 6 (Sorry Jack)
NYR over Pitt in 5
Wash over NYI in 6

5 out of 8

Montreal was just lucky as Ottawa outplayed them. Montreal has owned TB till this season but this season TB destroyed them. Bad coaching and plan from Montreal plus Bishop has their number it seems.

TB over Montreal in 6
Wash over NYR in 7 (I know most here will take NYR so mixing it up)

Ducks over Flames in 6
Hawks all the way! Beats Minn in 6

8 out of 12 so far.

Chicago beats the Ducks in 6 even if the Ducks use their legendary Flying V move.

I imagine that the NYR will do the usual and blocked endless shots. But with each game and round that takes it's toll and costs them each year as they end up walking wounded. They will show the wear in either this series or the next.

Seeing as most here will take the NYR, I will take Tampa in 7.
