I was at sea last week and missed the entire shebang. So I am trying to catch up on the news and of course the Whipping Post is the first place I turn for a fair and balanced conversation on the issues of the day.

You should feel lucky to have missed that bul$hitting fest. Of all of the speeches I watched and I watched each of the prime time ones the only ones out of the whole bunch that weren't strewn with everything from exagerations to flat out misleading to flat out fabrication of the facts were the speeches by Rice, Romney's wife which I found to be cheesy, and Christie whose speech was all about introducing himself for 2016 and had nothing to do with Romney. Bipartisan fact checkers had a field day this week. It will be interseting to see if the Democrats are caught in as many lies this coming week as the Republicans were. I just hope people are paying attention to the fact checkers and I wish they would have live fact checkers at the upcomoing debates to hold each candidates feet to the fire right on the spot so they can't get away with all of the complete misleading of the facts that all of the Republicans speeches were loaded with.

Most political conventions are worth missing, whether Demo or Repub.

Rhetoric, ra ra, a celebrity or two, ra ra, endless commentary.

I'll just read about it.
