Phil Lesh & Friends will tour this November. The ensemble will swing through the Northeast, making stops in Montclair, NJ (11/7-9), New York (11/11-13) and Port Chester, NY (11/15-18). The Port Chester show will take place at the recently reopened Capitol Theare, where the Grateful Dead played several historic shows in the early ’70s. Lesh’s band will feature singer/guitarist Jackie Greene, Furthur drummer Joe Russo and Furthur guitarist/singer John Kadlecik. Furthur/RatDog/The Dead keyboardist Jeff Chimentiwill play with the band from November 7-11 while Black Crowes/Chris Robinson Brotherhood keyboardist Adam MacDougall will join the band from November 12-18.

Phil Lesh & Friends’ fall dates
November 7-9 Montclair, NJ—The Wellmont Theatre
November 11-13 New York, NY—Roseland Ballroom
November 15-18 Port Chester, NY—Capitol Theatre

If I am gonna hit any of these it will be in Port Chester because my old broken down body can't handle 4 hours of standing in restricted space. Wish they were playing the Beacon or even the Hammerstein where at least there are balcony seats.

Was hoping for Larry Campbell and his wife. Maybe Warren.
I'll pass on furthur minus Weir.

Jackie Green is awesome with Phil!!! They have great chemistry as do all of the friends Phil puts together. This IMO will blow Further away!!!

No Bob=More Phil vocals. Problem is Phil remembers the words.

Sounds good to me. Jackie Greene also plays keys. Will try for the Cap in Port Chester.
Then Neil and CH at MSG!!

Any version of Phil Lesh and Friends would give Further a run for their money IMO. And the Phil Lesh Quintet (Warren, Jimmy, Rob, Phil and John) could easily give the original band all they wanted. Again my opinion. However, I have softened my Bob Weir stance considerably after being turned on to the TRI Studios site by someone here on the ABB Forum. Check out this "Sugaree" with Jackie Green and some nice guitar from Bob.

Sounds great! I actually prefer Phil and Friends over Furthur and while this line up looks great nothing will ever compare to the PLQ with Warren and Jimmy- except maybe Jimmy and Derek with PLQ

A very short one, maybe the beginning of a longer one?

Don't mind me, I'm just showing Midwesterner bitterness.

Jackie Greene will be handling most of the vocals........and honestly, Bob is the weak link in Further.....these shows should be really solid.

Phil & Friends is still my preference too, but the gulf between that and Furthur has narrowed considerably. Furthur is really good now, and the Phil show at Xmas Jam last Dec was sort of a snoozer.
