That is good news, hope to make the Detroit show in April. That being said I hope Chris is able to continue the Chris Robinson Brotherhood as that was one of the best shows I saw this summer

When i went to last year's 2 final shows in Amsterdam i kinda knew and hoped this would be another hiatus and not a definite breakup but i didn't expect them to tour so soon. I hope more European dates are added. But just like IPowrie stated i also hope to catch the CRB as those cds are among my favorites right now.

Love the Crowes, best American rock band for awhile. Hoping for some more dates in NC. If not, may have to travel to Nashville or Atlanta.

I love the Crowes! Love their individual projects, but there's power in unity & besides no reason not to have a solo project hiatus in a couple years?

So much for the rumor that they would be at Wanee - may be tough to see them in Chicago - think I have to fly out the 17th for Wanee.

Prediction....
Only 1 show in ATL only goes to show there has to be a summer tour on the way. They'll hit up the south-east markets. Wannee, Verizon Amph in NC, Chastain in ATL etc.... Then out west for fall.

They are in Chicago, St.Louis, And Nashville during Wanee - unless they fly to Florida for the 18th.....which would be doubtful.....

Although the addition of Jackie Green is cool and promising i think it's a bummer that Luther won't be joining them again. His playing in the BC was brilliant and a perfect fit.

Also rather strange that the new live release will be vinyl and digital download only. No cd / blueray? Vinyl will probably be very pricey since it's a 4 double LP.

Jackie Green, replacing Luther...what ? It does not suprise me that Luther is not coming back, I kinda thought that for awhile. Jackie Green? I have seen him once open for the Mule a few years ago and was pretty impressed with him as an artist and I thought he had some pretty decent guitar chops, but not really flooring me either. But maybe I have not seen/heard enough of him yet to know. Rich is a very good guitar player and I like his song writing and his crunchy phrasing of his riffs and he has some sweet melodies. Luther really filled in the rest of the guitar sound very well and is an awesome slide player.
I guess they know better than me!!

I am very excited to see the black crowes again....def one of my alltime favorite bands. I loved the CRB as well and hope that somehow that band manages to play/stick together as well. Both of those releases in 2012 were amazing IMO. I loved the cleveland show I saw back in june as well.

I am guessing that I saw around 8-10 black crowes shows with Luther. I thought it was a wonderful fit and all the releases, both live and studio, were all great. I am a bit bummed to hear that he longer will be in the band. What I have heard/own/seen of jackie green has turned me into a big fan of him as well. I love the American Myth and Giving up the Ghost albums. LOVED the Phil and Friends shows I was lucky enough to see with him as well (milwaukee, chicago, WV allgood...all in 2008 I think)

it will be interesting to see how this band sounds. Hopefully i can make it to nashville or st louis

Having Jackie on guitar comes as a huge surprise. Kind of bummed that it is not Luther but still excited for this tour and hopefully some more NMA dates

Jackie Green will be great with the Crowes as he is with all of his projects and I am really looking forward to this but I am now extremely disappointed that I didn't catch the band with Luther in it. I thought they really took things to another level with Luther and thought he was gonna stay in the band for a while. Mistake by me for sure! Gonna catch at least one of those NY shows, probably the Friday night in Port Chester.

Well they weren't going to tour then I would think unless they got a new drummer

I like them a lot as well. I am sure they will be back when Jackie, Joan, and the rest of that band have down time from their other projects.

Is there an IP to English translation somewhere?

Steve Gorman is the drummer in that band

Definitely a conflict for me to see them in Nashville.

Edit: Jackie Greene replacing Luther...

I never expected Luther to stay with the Crowes forever. He had to put a lot of his musical projects, including the North Mississippi Allstars, on the back burner for a long time, and I didn't see that staying like way for long.

Even so, I'm puzzled by adding Jackie Green to the band. He is a good guitarist, but not even in the same league as Luther or Audley Freed or Marc Ford as a soloist, in my opinion. I also wonder about whether the Black Crowes and/or Chris Robinson can handle having another lead singer in the band. I don't see why you would get Jackie unless you were going to let him sing, but I don't see Chris being happy sharing the spotlight. I'm not sure how that is going to work.

That is part of why Luther fit so well. He didn't crave attention or stardom and was happy to just stand in the background and rip sick guitar riffs all night long. It seems like a waste of Jackie's talent to have him do that. Even if I'm wrong about his guitar ability and he is capable of playing that role, I don't know why he would want to do so.

Jackie Greene is a surprise to me too. Luther & Marc are world class soloists. I'd describe Jackie as a good stylist. Nothing wrong with that at all, but he isn't in the same league as far as soloing chops, from what I've witnessed. I also highly doubt they hired Jackie to sing. Heck, Luther didn't even get a background mic on his side of the state. I know Marc was never coming back based on how/when he split, but that would have been cool too.
