Listening to the Duane boxset, I had no idea that the artist Sam Samudio was the same artist who went by Sam The Sham & The Pharaohs in the 60s. Huge hits back then, Wooly Bully, Lil' Red Riding Hood. His Atlantic album, Sam, Hard and Heavy, that Duane played on is completely different than those early hits. Great stuff. Learn something new every day!

Me neither Wayne. Let me ask you, as I haven't checked out the compilation yet: is there new material on it with Duane that had never been previously released? If so, what? Just curious.

You might be right Dan

Pat, I think there are 8 or 9 tunes that have not been released before. It is really good, The Escorts and Allman Joys tunes are really cool to hear. You can hear how his playing progressed throughout the set.

I was just reading about the "Skydog" release in detail at this link on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AO7HQ06/ref=pe_54280_28976930_email_1p _0_ti). I imagine it's probably been posted on here in other threads, but there are some really positive reviews about the compilation posted there. Now that there are more available, I'm going to have to pick up a copy.
