On New Years Eve Gregg and Friends are playing a show in Jacksonville, FL with JJ Grey and Mofro opening. Show starts at 9 PM.

Anyone gone to one of his New Years Eve shows before? Was it worth it? Will he play until midnight? Will it be sold out?
Thoughts? Comments?

Last year I listened to his NYE show on XM radio.
If I remember correctly the show started after midnight,or at least went past midnight on the east coast.

yes. He probably will quit before midnight and will be playing or be hanging out with somebody's girlfriend by then.

I would think that someone that goes by "sweetgreggfan" would know if a Gregg Allman show was worth going to or not.

Yeah, I was going to ask, what other options there are. This seems like a damn good one.

I'd expect a solid and fun show from Gregg and Friends. I wouldn't expect anything in particular special in regards to the New Year's Festivities from Gregg and Co. Maybe they will do a countdown for ya?

I wouldn't discount 'special happenings' at this show....Mr. and Mrs. Derek Trucks live in Jacksonville and have historically played this same venue on New Years' Eve in the past. They are great friends with Mr. Gray as well as Mr. Allman. The TTB website shows no shows for them on or around NY. Eve.....hmmmm ....Happy New Year???!!!!

Saw Gregg on NYE in Ventura, CA back in 1995 (?). He brought out a 16 year old Derek Trucks for a few songs.

I've already bought my tickets! Hoping for a turnout of peach-heads rivaling that on the Derek and Susan NYE show a few years back! Banesh? Ecosence? Linnie? DancinDave? The more - the merrier!

I am pretty sure that the last few times Gregg played New Year's Eve his set ended well before midnight so they didn't have a countdown at the shows so if you were counting on the show going past midnight I would find out ahead of time because I don't think Gregg's NYE shows run past midnight.
