With the American Masters Series on Jimi Hendrix I thought I would share a story about Jimi. My brother Twiggs was on the road in 1964 -1965 as Little Richard's road manager. Jimi was lead guitar player in the band. They were having lunch one day in a restaurant and Jimi had his guitar with him. He was using the salt shaker (which was upside down) as a slide, and salt was pouring out. Jimi didn't care. He was lost in his playing.

Funny that Jimi didn't seem to play that much slide later on either (that I can think of) -- the intro to Night Bird Flying is one example
