From mule.net - BREAK ON THROUGH TO 2014 - You spoke we listened! Due to popular demand after the two special shows in LA & Oakland performing the music of The Doors with the legendary Robby Krieger, we have decided to bring Robby and the music of The Doors to the east coast for a special New Years Eve performance at New York's Beacon Theatre. We couldn't be more excited to bring this into The Beacon, and we hope you'll join us. Tickets are available now HERE.

Personally I think it is a little bit weak to do the same theme as Halloween. I have gotten spoiled over the years getting one off shows on NYE and would much rather they play something else. That being said I do like the Doors and am sure it will be entertaining.

I am very glad now that I have never got around to listening to any of those west coast Doors themed shows and haven't even watched a single video of them on youtube. Usually I would have immersed myself after those shows but for whatever reason I just never checked them out so at least the music will be somewhat fresh for me. I did look at the setlist at the time and remember thinking it was very cool but I don't even remember what they played now.

There is a rumor circulating that Robbie Krieger is going to make an appearance at the XMAS Jam. One can only hope.

With the death of Ray Manzarek I think Robbie is looking for something to do with his time; hence this not being a "one off" for the Mule.

The promised Krieger/Densmore tribute show seems to not be happening (it was supposed to be before the end of the year) so I guess this is it.

Nothing "weak" about the Doors set the Mule did in Oakland, anyone should be thankful to get a repeat of that performance! That may be the best 2 hours of music I have ever heard in my life, simple amazing performance of The Doors songs, and with Robbie sitting in adding stories about the songs, I encourage everyone to take a listen to the 2nd set from that Halloween night.

I am totally psyched by this news! I dowloaded the 10/30 show and it was fantastic and I posted that I hoped they would bring this to NYC. I am now extra excited for my 10th Mule Year's Eve!

Who knows.....maybe Robby will bring John Densmore to those Mule shows! It seems that they have burried the hatchet.

"John Densmore and Robby Krieger will share a stage next month for the first time in 13 years.

The surviving members of The Doors will appear at the Los Angeles County Museum Of Art on December 5 to mark what would have been late vocalist Jim Morrison’s 70th birthday three days later. The event will also commemorate keyboardist Ray Manzarek, who died in May.

Densmore and Krieger will watch Morrison biopic Mr Mojo Risin’: The Story Of LA Woman before giving a talk about their memories and experiences of being in The Doors.

But although they’ve discussed the possibility of performing together in memory of Manzarek, it’s not been confirmed whether it’ll happen on this occasion.

They last worked together in 2000, before becoming involved in a series of legal battles. Densmore sued Krieger and Manzarek for using the band name without him, and they countersued over lost income because he wouldn’t sign a licensing deal.

In July guitarist Krieger said: “We’re going to do at least one show for Ray and have a big send-off. That’s either the start or the end of it – I don’t know.”

Speaking of his differences with Densmore, he reflected: “It was a very stupid idea. We had the worst lawyers. I can’t hate him for ever – he’s the one that got me into the Doors.”"
