good call, Lefty.

This place became a very regular part of my life right about the Beach 2 Peach run, many years ago. To this day, non-work related, I frequent 2 and only 2 webisites...basically ever: this one & ESPN.

I've met many people along the way...lots of great moments and shows. Either way, I feel I can always come here and find something interesting from a group of friends I (mostly) don't know. The common thread, our love for the Allman Brothers Band, is something I don't take lightly.

All good things...come to an end. REALLY looking forward to some summer dates....thanks to the band, Joe Bell & Crew, and Lana & Rowland....time to listen to some records.

As unnerving as recent developments have been - this place has certainly come to life in the last two days!
The late, great Red Dog - shortly before he passed stated that, "the guestbook has become a morgue...". I wish he were here to take part in the discussions.

The current band lineup may be fragmenting - but the "fanhood" is in good shape!

Sir Rusty, you may not remember, but I met your wife and you...and you graciously shared a little G before the 10-10-08 show at Chastain. Long live the ABB.

Nice posts Lefty & Layton. Happy to call you both my friends and glad we were able to meet (along with many others) because of this site.

The heck with Facebook.

Lefty is absolutely correct. I didn't mean to spoil the spirit of his post with my Red Dog quote.

This website should be celebrated! I've seen plenty of band related sites, but nothing comes close to the sense of COMMUNITY that Lana and Rowland have created. The site is an interesting phenomena to itself.

I got a little sentimental in another thread recounting just a few of the people and friendships that I have made via this community. I guess a dwelled on those who have passed.

The future of the band itself seems very much up in the air. Maybe.

What I'd like to see in the coming days would be a homecoming of sorts. There are many folks who seem to have disappeared from this site on recent years. I could rattle off a long list of names - but I'd inevitably leave some or most out.

If the band isn't dying, it is certainly on life support. Maybe it's time to rally the troops?

Banesh, Ecosense, TopDroog, Hophead, Goliath, BigSixPeachhead, MotherTeresa, MusicChick3, Sari, TerriB, MissElf, Slowhand6, Hasija ... I'm runnin outta breath!

Too many folks to name - didn't mean to omit anybody. Just the same please call home!

It is an honor and privilege to be part of this community...

Since the announcement I've been listening to lots of ABB shows from the Warren/Derek years...enjoying 2005 a lot....also the 2013 1983 into mountain jam....wow....

Spread the love!

Please call home indeed...regardless of the bands future, we have COMPLETE control over ours..
If you don't know the story of how Hittin The Note was started, you should hear it..
Hophead ?..
Kirk?.
Story time?

The point ( minus the details..lol)
Is that it was a microcosm of us...
Die hard fans that wanted to connect and share their love of trading taped music and their love of the Allman Brothers
With all due respect to the band, how many of us have said the concerts are nice but it is more about seeing each other than anything else at this point?

We have control over that...

There have been some really amazing times here and meeting some of the people on this site...How about lanaroos in Ellwood city PA and HTW family band tour Lefty put together.

Rusty...I hope you shout out all the names of those who have left so they can hear us call them back. This place has been a great place and hopefully it will continue to be. Bigdaveonbass and bluedad hardly post here anymore and they were 2 of the most loved members who added soooo much to this site and community

The list Rusty made....Yes I miss those people what they contributed along with his memory of some very loved members who we have lost to time and will never have back but for the memories they gave us. I only meet Bill and Randy once and I can tell you I felt and incredible connection to both and what they did for this place....
