Thank you. Super cool.

I am sharing with Jaimoe.

Actually never knew he played with Carr... I've always heard that Dark End of the Street was one of Duane's favorite songs... Gregg's stated reason for cutting it on Searching for Simplicity.

This looks like the same lineup and set where he is playing behind Percy Sledge singing "When A Man Loves A Woman." Maybe it was a tv special and they were the house band backing all of the singers.

James Carr could have been one of the greats, like Otis, but sadly he had a rough life, mental/drug issues. But man could he sing!

Thanks Rain.

Carr is unreal... I was at a show iat Tramps maybe 20 years ago when he made his first comeback to the stage in forever.. sang a few songs really well though he looked uncomfortable... then he basically ran off the stage.. Really sad...

I have to confess that I do not recall what happened next.. if he came back, they went on without him, whatever...

Check out "The Complete Goldwax Singles" by James Carr. Really shows off his talent. There is even one cut with short but tasty Duane solo. Phil Walden told me that Carr was bi-polar.....the same as Phil. He put Carr's talent right up there with Otis. Carr died 10 or 12 years ago, I believe.
