Interesting interview. He doesn't like partisan bickering and people misrepresenting themselves...

I saw this last night. This guy should get the same kind of ridicule as Sarah Palin for his bumbling stupidity, but of course that will never happen.

It's the classic alignment. Ignorant liberal - misinformed, but good intentions (bless his little heart). Ignorant conservative = threat to all that is good & holy, attack!

I think the "classic alignment" issue belongs more to those who perpetuate myths like this, and also would equate Palin, who was a sitting governor and candidate for Vice President of the United State when we all got exposed to her unique brand of ignorance and stupidity, to this tool who hasn't been elected to anything yet and is clearly chasing as much publicity as he can get. And Palin has plenty of supporters including some who have sang her praises here...this guy, not so much.

That said, if you google him you will see that there certainly are no shortage of websites who are mercilessly ridiculing him, and in the process giving him way more attention than he deserves (and playing right into his hands in the process).

If he ever gets nominated for the Democratic party as Vice President and then gives a big speech at the DNC and then can't even tell an interviewer what he reads, then we can have this discussion because right now it's false equivalency.

So we can't be critical of similar levels of ignorant, foolish, or nonsense comments unless the individuals are of equal stature and accomplishment? Man, the 'crazy' calculations just got like that three-level chess board on Star Trek. Where's Spock when you need him?

I wasn't expecting agreement, and that's fine. But thinking that pols who are generally left of center face equal scrutiny as those on the right for this sort of thing says that the media is also balanced in their political alignment. That just isn't remotely the case.

I agree with you completely. Anyone who puts them out there in politics is free game to any criticism that comes there way. It doesn't need to be a big name or not, and by the guy criticizing Fox he should be better prepared to back it up. The guy got what he deserved. But you really can't expect other networks to pick up on a small candidate saying stuff like this, because there are simply bigger issues out there for most networks to care.

He's running for US Congress. Small-time stuff.
