We have hoped for this release for years - now the release date has been firmly scheduled for July 29, 2014! This legendary collection of shows is up for pre-order at the below link. As we usually do with this kind of thing, we are offering our next printed issue of HTN for free for all those that pre-order. HTN#82 will have an exclusive interview with Bill Levenson, Producer of the set, as the cover story.

Here's the link to see the set list and the three different product offerings:

I don't mean to be cynical but, is it possible we will be asked to purchase this to get codes for the new beacon shows?

Probably just until they sell out if history repeats itself. Then there will be another "limited run" lol

I notice there is a blue ray version of this box set. I have seen a few other artists recordings in the store in blue ray version but have never heard any.

Obviously you need to play this through your blue ray disc player and have good speakers connected to your system.

Has anyone heard heard or purchased any blue ray recordings and is the sound noticably better?

Shows ya how bad my memory is. I was at the Friday early show, 3/12, and i would have sorn to my death that they had played Hot'Lanta and Whippin' Post. It's amazing how much my memory is colored by the original Live at the Fillmore album.

Good speakers is a subjective matter, I've got a $140 and a $300 dollar pair that I think sound fine for what I need.

Anyhow, overall I think the Blu-ray sound is fantastic, and am planning to get that version of this release.

I've got the Neil Young Archives, Tom Petty Anthology, and the Rolling Stones "Grrrrr" in this format, and the only thing I've been disappointed in is the Stones 70's output on "Grrrr".
But the stuff from the 60's is tremendous, with a quite noticeable improvement in clarity, imo, over cd/vinyl releases of the material.

I have it from a very good source that they did close that set with Hot 'lanta. So trust your memory on that one. If Whipping Post was played it's not on the tapes for that show.

Wish they'd do another limited run of Brothers and Sisters Super Deluxe.
