And to think this Hillbilly could have been one heart attack away from running this country if McCain had won.

http://nypost.com/2014/09/12/palin-family-involved-in-drunken-house-party-b rawl-reports/

Palin family in ‘drunken brawl’

It was a brawl in the family for the Palin clan.

Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin got into a fracas worthy of reality TV when she, husband Todd and their entourage of children allegedly got involved in a drunken brawl at an Anchorage house party, according to multiple reports.

The former Alaska governor’s daughter Bristol even allegedly threw punches and son Track ripped his shirt off in anger and flipped the bird in the Saturday melee, according to the reports.

The backwoods brawling began after the clan rolled up to the soiree in a stretch Hummer.

Sarah and Todd Palin had been invited to the 40th birthday party for a champion snowmobile racer and brought the children along, according to the blog Political Gates.

At one point during the event, Bristol allegedly unleashed a “flurry of blows” at the host because a boy wanted to “have a go” at her sister Willow, the blog said.

The former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant — who has a 5-year-old son, Tripp — stumbled onto the floor and was ushered outside.

Outside, the entire Palin crew got involved, with Track allegedly ripping off his shirt and starting to throw punches. Todd Palin ended up with a bloody nose after the brawl, but it wasn’t clear how, the blog said.

A band that was hired to play the party kept the music going throughout the whole ordeal.

According to Alaska political blogger Amanda Coyne, who also reported on the fracas, Sarah Palin yelled at one point, “Don’t you know who I am?”

One partygoer responded, “This isn’t some damned hillbilly reality show!”

Police arrived shortly afterward and cleared out the gathering.

Track Palin continued to be obnoxious, strutting around the street shirtless and “flipping everyone the bird,” according to multiple reports.

Although there was some discrepancy as to who started the fight, Anchorage police confirmed that a fight occurred, alcohol was a factor and “some of the Palin family members” were in attendance, according to the Alaska Dispatch News.

On her Facebook page, Sarah Palin claimed she had been traveling on Saturday.

But one person who claimed to be a witness commented on the post that Sarah’s traveling claim was a load of moose manure.

“Interesting .?.?. pretty sure you were not traveling and you and family were on the Southside causing chaos. Saw it happen. Don’t fib.”

The difference is John and Bobby were actually smart. Palin not so much.

Can you honestly say you would want her running this country?

Have you been dropping acid or doing shrooms? Palin is no Phi Beta Kappa. I doubt she could hold her own on this site.

McCains selection of Palin as a running mate has always baffled me. It cinched the election for Barry. Absolutely no one to the right of McCain was going to even think about voting Democratic. He needed a centrist (granted not easy to find) Republican; be they male or female.

BTW - you vote for president not Vice President. Biden too is an idiot.

McCain needed help and needed it badly. Picking Palin was a major short-term poll boost, when McCain picked her he was down by 12 and within a week he was up by 10. That all frittered away, led largely by two events...the Palin-Couric interview and McCain "suspending" his campaign to address the financial crisis. He never led any poll after that.

The McCain campaign tried very, very hard, but they just didn't have enough time. She went from the statehouse in Anchorage to being sequestered in Sedona to the platform of the Republican National Convention in 9 days. That's a tall order no matter who you pick.

He was widely disliked by the social right. So it was felt that in order to unite the party he needed a candidate favored by them. Unfortunately with many more reasonable options to choose from, he chose someone highly unqualified. Similar in some ways to GHW Bush's choice of Dan Quayle. The truth is it is unlikely McCain would have won in any event. But Palin was a singularly foolish choice though she is not as "stupid" as the left makes her out to be.

Hmmmmmm. I've always had the impression it was a panic move, not a policy one.

No way the social right would have voted for a Black possible "Muslim" rather than McCain

I think he always planned to pick someone popular with the social conservative right. The actually picking of Palin as opposed to someone else who fit that criteria may have been a panic move.

But they might not have voted at all. You know how important base enthusiasm has become. VP picks are frequently designed to unite the party itself. Reagan picked Bush as his VP in order to placate the more moderate Wall Street wing which surely wasn't going to vote for Carter. Carter picked Mondale to placate liberals who mistrusted him. Bush I picked Quayle to placate conservatives. That's how it used to be done. Then it stopped being done that way. Clinton picked Gore who had the exact same appeal he did. Bush picked Cheney solely to have an experienced man on the ticket and in no way to placate a wing. Obama kind of did the same thing with Biden. But McCain went back (or tried to go back) to the old way and it blew up in his face. Again, not that he would have won in any event. 2008 was a Democratic year.

Have you read any excerpts from or seen "Game Change", or have you watched any interviews with GOP operatives & strategists / advisers, Steve Schmidt & Nicole Wallace to the the McCain / Palin campaign? There's plenty of inside information, & it's not very complimentary to Palin. I would think they know much more than anyone on this site's opinions about who the 1/2 Governor really is & what she really doesn't know, as well as what her skills may or may not be.

As much as I dislike the current President and most of his policies, I have to draw the line here.

The thought of Sarah Palin in the White House is just this side of absolutely frightening.

Palin is far from stupid. She repulses me, but she is not stupid. She is guilty of being incredibly unlikeable. Her blunders are a result of ill-preparedness. Since abandoning and failing her constituents, she has made a fortune.

I'd qualify that by saying that she has been successful at marketing herself to an easily targeted audience. That's a far cry from being smart, intelligent, & knowing issues that impact this country and the world. If you've listened to her answers on interviews (including those on home base, FOX), she speaks at a very broad / general level. Never do you hear delving into any level of detail to show that she can can deliver other than high level talking points.

If it's an extemporaneous answer, she fails miserably. Remember all those really tough "gotcha" questions she was asked by Katie Couric? I actually almost felt sorry for her that she couldn't answer the most basic and simplest of questions. And this is the person that would be one step away from POTUS. Really?????????????????????

Is she still getting plenty of time on FOX, or have they somewhat distanced themselves from Sister Sarah?
