So my 7 year old daughter handed me a CD from the backseat on the way to school today.

"Daddy, put this in. It's The Allman Brothers at Winterland 1973." Yes, she warms my heart. And Jessisca is one of her favorite songs.

The grooves on IMOER and Whipping Post on Winterland are so frigging deep you could drown. Led me to post to seek other high level live examples of the groove just being 100 feet deep. any love?

Favorite ABB show ever. Listened to this live broadcast and then the tape for decades before its commercial release. IMOER has an incredible transition from Chuck's piano to Gregg's B-3 and WP has that intro that actually begins with the ending of "Trouble no more" that has always sounded to me like they are attempting to raise the dead...As Johhny Sandlin said after the show "Oh, the power was there"...

One that instantly comes to mind is the outro jam of Black Hearted Woman on the Beacon DVD.

That's some groovy chit, yo.

Dreams from Atlanta Pop. There is no other.

Berry's bass solo>"Third Stone From the Sun" on "Mountain Jam" off of Ludlow Garage is the first one that comes to mind. Derek's solo and the way the band builds on "44 Blues" from the Fox Box is highly underrated.

I love the groove on Dont Keep Me Wondering. I wonder what the funkiest live version of that might be.

And the way Gregg comes in on WP from Chuck gets me every time.

Jim - not ABB, but the groove from the Clapton Crossroads with Los Lobos, Oteil and Derek is such an awesoem groove. Check that out if you have not.

thanks guys! I have some new listening to do.
